An Engineered Biomimetic Nanoreactor With Cascade Functions for Targeted and Combinatorial Therapy of Ischemic Stroke

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Preparation of RVG‐modified erythrocyte membrane‐coated HMPB nanocarriers loaded with L‐arginine and NBP (RM@HPAN) and its neuroprotective mechanism. After intravenous injection, RM@HPAN achieves prolonged circulation, RVG‐29‐mediated BBB penetration, and ischemic accumulation.

Smart card systems: managing risks and modelling security protocols using SystemC and Transaction Level Modelling

open access: yes, 2011
Smart cards are examples of advanced chip technology. They allow information transfer between the card holder and the system over secure networks, but they contain sensitive data related to both the card holder and the system, that has to be kept private

Can Elastomers Combine Stiffness, Toughness and Fatigue Resistance?

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review studies how the molecular and macroscopic architecture of elastomers influence their mechanical properties including: stiffness, stretchability, toughness, fatigue resistance, and damping behavior. By linking the structure to performance, it proposes design principles for advanced elastomeric systems that combine mechanical properties ...

Disturb‐Resilient and Wake‐up‐Free 2T‐MFMFET Array for Storage and Computing Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A disturb‐resilient and wake‐up‐free 2T‐MFMFET array fabricated using a FeRAM‐compatible process demonstrates excellent uniformity, a large memory window, and 3‐bit multi‐level‐cell storage capability. A newly proposed hybrid in‐memory computing scheme further enables accurate multiply–accumulate operations with minimal refresh overhead, highlighting ...

Upscaling Pulsed Laser Fragmentation in Liquids by Advanced Free‐Flow Setups

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Advanced flow setups providing thin colloid films are introduced to upscale pulsed laser fragmentation in liquids for sustainable nanoparticle synthesis. Their potential is demonstrated by yielding remarkably small ZnO nanoparticles of <7 nm. Numerical simulations complement the study, revealing that the superior performance can be attributed to ...

From identity to ID card

open access: yesHAU: Journal of Ethnographic Theory, 2023
I met Brigida in 2015. At the time, she presented herself as a young gay man, somewhat androgynous, and identified herself as culturally mixed-race (Mestizo). Today, in 2023, her identity card is that of an Indigenous woman, a Chola. This took place in the context of the Indigenization of Bolivian citizenship and the passing in 2016 of a law that ...

Defect‐Engineered ZnO Nanowire Arrays for Flexible Room‐Temperature Hydrogen Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Fabrication process of patterned ZnO nucleation sites on a flexible polyimide (PI) substrate. Top/tilted‐view SEM images of ordered ZnO nanoflower arrays confined within patterned circular regions. AFM topography map with height data revealing a disk‐array structure, where the patterned regions (marked by a red dot circle) are elevated by ∼2 µm ...
