Atypical Case of Takayasu Aortitis Presenting as Embolic Stroke With Concomitant Massive Thoracic Artery Aneurysm

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 7, July 2026.
Multifocal aortic aneurysmal dilatation as evidenced by CT Angiography chest‐abdomen‐pelvis of the ascending aorta (A), aortic arch (B), and suprarenal abdominal aorta (C), measuring 6.0 × 6.0, 4.5 × 4.5, and 4.1 × 3.7 cm, respectively. ABSTRACT We describe the case of a 44‐year‐old female with a history significant for only hypertension who presented ...

Long QT Syndrome Type 5 With Coexisting KCNE1 and RYR2 Variants: A Diagnostic Ambiguity

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Long QT syndrome (LQTS) predisposes to syncope and sudden cardiac death. Type 5 LQTS, linked to KCNE1 variants, is rare. A teenage female presented with recurrent syncope. ECG showed QTc 485 ms. Genetic testing identified KCNE1 and RYR2 variants. Beta‐blockers and ICD prevented events.

Increased vulnerability of human ventricle to re-entrant excitation in hERG-linked variant 1 short QT syndrome [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The short QT syndrome (SQTS) is a genetically heterogeneous condition characterized by abbreviated QT intervals and an increased susceptibility to arrhythmia and sudden death.

Cardiac Arrest as the First Manifestation of Single Coronary Artery—Potential Role of FFRCT for Detecting Critical Flow Reduction. A Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Single coronary artery may present with life‐threatening ventricular arrhythmias even in the absence of structural heart disease or inducible ischemia. FFR‐CT can detect clinically relevant flow reduction despite normal functional testing, highlighting its potential role in risk stratification in patients with coronary anomalies.

Emergency zero-fluoroscopy catheter ablation for refractory ventricular tachycardia in third-trimester pregnancy: a case report

open access: yesFrontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine
BackgroundThe incidence of symptomatic arrhythmias during pregnancy has markedly increased in recent years. Atrial fibrillation/flutter and life-threatening ventricular arrhythmias are of particular concern due to their association with elevated maternal

Reversal of Pacing‐Induced Cardiomyopathy After Upgrade to Left Bundle Branch Area Pacing: A Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT High‐burden right ventricular pacing induced cardiomyopathy in a 47‐year‐old male; upgrading to left bundle branch area pacing may lead to rapid and sustained recovery of cardiac function.

Ventricular Arrhythmias Originating from the Papillary Muscles of the Left Ventricle in the Structurally Normal Heart and the Role of Catheter Ablation: Ventricular Arrhythmias from the Papillary Muscles

open access: yes, 2022
Ventricular arrhythmias arising from the left ventricular papillary muscles, having a right bundle branch block (RBBB) QRS morphology on the electrocardiogram, account for approximately 15% of arrhythmias in a structurally normal heart and have usually a

Thromboembolism in a Patient with a Left Ventricular Aneurysm

open access: yesEurasian Journal of Emergency Medicine, 2016
Idiopathic aneurysms involving the left ventricle are considered very rare, and in a majority of instances, they are asymptomatic. In a minority of patients, they may present with cardiac rupture, cardiac tamponade, ventricular arrhythmias, and sudden ...

Catheter Ablation of Idiopathic Ventricular Arrhythmias Arising From the Cardiac Outflow Tracts - Recent Insights and Techniques for the Successful Treatment of Common and Challenging Cases.

open access: yesCirculation Journal, 2016
Ventricular arrhythmias (VA), like premature ventricular contractions (PVC) and ventricular tachycardia (VT) in patients without structural heart disease (idiopathic VA), mainly arise from the right and left ventricular outflow tracts (RVOT/LVOT).

Oxygen Supplementation Improves Oxygen Uptake Kinetics and Exercise Performance in PAH and CTEPH Patients

open access: yesComprehensive Physiology, Volume 16, Issue 3, June 2026.
In patients with pulmonary vascular diseases (PAH and CTEPH), supplemental oxygen (FiO2 0.3), compared to room air (FiO2 0.21) improved peak exercise capacity (peak V̇O2), peak sustainable exercise (V̇O2 at GET), and V̇O2 kinetics and the onset of exercise.
