Hormone therapy affecting interferon defense in children with infectious mononucleosis

open access: yesИнфекция и иммунитет, 2021
23 children diagnosed with acute infectious mononucleosis were hospitalized and examined after a short prednisolone treatment course. Related interferon status during infection was compared with that in 38 patients with acute infectious mononucleosis ...

Tumor innate immunity primed by specific interferon-stimulated endogenous retroviruses. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Mesenchymal tumor subpopulations secrete pro-tumorigenic cytokines and promote treatment resistance1-4. This phenomenon has been implicated in chemorefractory small cell lung cancer and resistance to targeted therapies5-8, but remains incompletely ...

In vitro models of cancer‐associated fibroblast heterogeneity uncover subtype‐specific effects of CRISPR perturbations

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Development of therapies targeting cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) necessitates preclinical model systems that faithfully represent CAF–tumor biology. We established an in vitro coculture system of patient‐derived pancreatic CAFs and tumor cell lines and demonstrated its recapitulation of primary CAF–tumor biology with single‐cell transcriptomics ...

Influence of polyamines of bacterial origin on the production of key cytokines in the culture of human mononuclear leukocytes

open access: yesМедицинская иммунология, 2022
To date, participation of biogenic polyamines has been studied in details, with respect to regulation of microbial gene expression, interrelations between bacteria, development of their persistence state.

Enhanced Immunomodulation in Inflammatory Environments Favors Human Cardiac Mesenchymal Stromal-Like Cells for Allogeneic Cell Therapies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Rising numbers of patients with cardiovascular diseases and limited availability of donor hearts require new and improved therapy strategies. Human atrial appendage-derived cells (hAACs) are promising candidates for an allogeneic cell-based treatment. In

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.
