Comparison of IGRF models with North American magnetic data
Comparisons of proposed and adopted geomagnetic reference field models are made against North American test data for the period 1965 to 1985. These test data (X, Y, Z, and F) include Canadian map and aeromagnetic data and USGS land-based data. Model values are also tested against predicted component values for 1982 and 1984 derived from 27 magnetic ...

Evaluation of IGRF 1980 candidate models.
The IGRF candidate models for the main field 1980 and the secular variation 1980-85 are compared with observations. The IGS and USGS secular variation models agree better with the global set of secular variation estimates than does the NASA model. The NASA and USGS models represent more closely than does the IGS model a spatially limited set of 1980 ...

Assessment of IGRF Candidate Models over the Indian Region.
The five candidate models for DGRF 1985 and IGRF 1990 developed by IZMIRAN, US/UK, USGS and two models of GSFC, are assessed over the Indian region, using observatory and repeat survey stations data for period 1985-1990. The results indicate that no model is dramatically better than the other.

Abstract Field‐line curvature scattering (FLCS) is believed to be the primary mechanism forming electron isotropy boundaries (IB) and can rapidly scatter relativistic electrons from the outer radiation belt. However, its direct and quantitative impact on controlling outer belt electron lifetimes has never been directly assessed.

Abstract This study presents a comprehensive evaluation of COSMIC‐2 satellite‐derived ionospheric peak parameters (foF2 and hmF2) against ground‐based ionosonde observations and a comparative analysis with PyIRI (2020) model estimates across middle to low latitudes for the period 2020–2024.

Abstract Energetic electron precipitation plays a pivotal role in shaping Earth's radiation belt dynamics and drives significant physical and chemical changes in the upper atmosphere. However, the detailed mechanisms governing the loss of relativistic electrons have remained unclear, largely due to the limited energy coverage and coarse resolution of ...

Preliminary Report: DESiGN and Test Result of KSR-3 Rocket Magnetometers [PDF]
The solar wind contributes to the formation of unique space environment called the Earth's magnetosphere by various interactions with the Earth's magnetic field.
