Cardiovascular toxicity induced by TKIs in patients with chronic myeloid leukaemia: Are women and men different?
ESC Heart Failure, Volume 12, Issue 2, Page 1447-1454, April 2025.This study analyzes 148 patients (66 women and 82 men) with chronic myeloid leukemia treated with tyrosine kinase inhibitors, focusing on cardiovascular adverse events. The risk assessment, performed using the HFA/ICOS score, reveals sex‐specific differences: venous thrombosis is more common in women, while arterial thrombosis predominates in men.Cristina Madaudo, Daniela Di Lisi, Antonio Cannatà, Federica Manfrè, Celeste Vullo, Marco Santoro, Ciro Botta, Salvatrice Mancuso, Sergio Siragusa, Alfredo Ruggero Galassi, Giuseppina Novo +10 morewiley +1 more sourceOutcomes in Stage IIA vs. Stage IIB/III in the PALLAS Trial [ABCSG-42/AFT-05/PrE0109/BIG-14-13]) [PDF]

Epilepsia, EarlyView.Abstract Objective
Epilepsy surgery in people with focal cortical dysplasia (FCD) requires accurate removal of all epileptogenic tissue, and outcome is difficult to predict. We explored whether spectral entropy, a fast computable electroencephalographic (EEG) feature, could estimate epileptic activity in intraoperative electrocorticography (ioECoG) and Eline V. Epilepsia Open, EarlyView.Abstract By targeting the underlying etiology, precision therapies offer an exciting paradigm shift to improve the stagnant outcomes of drug‐resistant epilepsies, including developmental and epileptic encephalopathies. Unlike conventional antiseizure medications (ASMs) which only treat the symptoms (seizures) but have no effect on the underlying ...Shuyu Wang, Emilio Perucca, Samuel F.
