A Self-Protecting Control Application for IIoT
2019 IEEE 4th International Workshops on Foundations and Applications of Self* Systems (FAS*W), 2019Industrial control applications are today software defined and networked, making them even more vulnerable to cyber-attacks. Hence there is the need to investigate new solutions that are secure by design. In this paper, we propose a self-protecting architecture for a control application suitable for Industrial Internet-of-Things deployments.

You looked at the definition of IoT in Chapter 1. In this chapter, I want to expand on it. What makes the concept of the Internet of Things work are the twin abilities of using small scale sensors and motors, and controlling their input and output through programming interfaces. The crux of IoT is the ability to remotely monitor and control the devices.

Exploring IIoT and Energy Harvesting Boundaries
IECON 2019 - 45th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2019In this paper it is presented a new wireless sensing network architecture to improve the energy management of battery-less Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) devices powered by heat. These IIoT devices will help huge energy demanding industries (especially chemical, petrochemical, oil refineries, etc.) to become more environmentally friendly in their

The Industrial Internet is reliant on the structure of M2M technology. Sometimes, it is older established technologies and practices that have been around for decades, that can spark innovation, and as a result, IIoT’s architecture is often seen as a natural evolution of M2M.
