Extracellular Vesicle‐Encapsulated Small RNAs From Clostridium Butyricum Modulate Host Intestinal Lipid Metabolism

open access: yesJournal of Extracellular Vesicles, Volume 15, Issue 10, October 2026.
Extracellular vesicles (EVs) derived from C. butyricum can enter intestinal epithelial cells and mediate the anti‐lipid absorption effects by delivering miRNA‐like RNAs (milRNAs), particularly milRNA‐3020179, which primarily targeted host genes majorly including PPARα. Deletion of milRNA‐3020179 in C. butyricum abolished its effects on lipid deposition

Endoscopic small bowel therapies for type 2 diabetes

open access: yesNutrition in Clinical Practice, Volume 41, Issue 5, Page 1296-1306, October 2026.
Abstract Type 2 diabetes is a global epidemic despite current medical treatments. Many patients are not responsive to medications, and patients with obesity are hesitant about bariatric surgery. Studies investigating the metabolic effects of Roux‐en‐Y gastric bypass have increasingly demonstrated that the duodenum plays a key role in the ...

Gastrointestinal adverse effects of GLP‐1 receptor agonists and dual GIP/GLP‐1 receptor agonists: A narrative expert review of approved therapies, oral formulations, and pipeline agents

open access: yesNutrition in Clinical Practice, Volume 41, Issue 5, Page 1318-1333, October 2026.
Abstract Background Glucagon‐like peptide‐1 receptor agonists (GLP‐1 RAs) and dual glucose‐dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP)/GLP‐1 receptor agonists have transformed the management of type 2 diabetes and obesity. Gastrointestinal (GI) adverse events are the most common limitation of these therapies and a leading cause of discontinuation ...

The Bile Acid Signaling Axis: Deciphering the Roles of FXR and TGR5 in Hepatic Steatosis, Fibrosis, and Cancer

open access: yesPharmacology Research &Perspectives, Volume 14, Issue 5, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Bile acids (BAs) serve not only as emulsifiers for lipid digestion but also as essential signaling molecules, governing various physiological and pathological processes through their interaction with the farnesoid X receptor (FXR) and the takeda G protein‐coupled receptor 5 (TGR5).
