Leiomyosarcoma of the Iliac Vein

Annals of Vascular Surgery, 2009
Leiomyosarcoma of the iliac vein is a very uncommon tumor. We report the case of a 55-year-old man with leiomyosarcoma of the left iliac vein. The patient had abdominal pain and hematuria. Abdominal ultrasound and computed tomography scanning demonstrated a well-defined mass in the left inguinal region, probably arising from the left iliac vein ...

Influence of Iliac Vein Stent Implantation on the Contralateral Iliac Vein

Vascular and Endovascular Surgery, 2015
Objectives: Stent implantation is frequently used to treat iliac vein occlusion. However, the recommended extension of the stent mesh into the inferior vena cava (IVC) may affect blood flow through the contralateral iliac vein.

Dyeless iliac vein stenting

Vascular, 2020
Objective Iliac vein stenting is increasingly being explored for the treatment of chronic venous insufficiency. While venography is considered the gold standard for assessing iliac veins, some have proposed that intravascular ultrasound should be utilized instead due to its greater sensitivity at detecting ...

Prearterial External Iliac Vein as a Rare Anomaly of the Iliac Vein

Annals of Vascular Surgery, 2015
The coexistence of a retroperitoneal venous anomaly requires special consideration during open aortoiliac surgery. Anomalies of the external iliac vein are rare, and no anomalies of the right external iliac vein, which passes ventral to the external iliac artery, have been reported in the English literature to the best of our knowledge.

Comparison of computed tomography venography and intravascular ultrasound in screening and classification of iliac vein obstruction in patients with chronic venous disease.

Journal of Vascular Surgery: Venous and Lymphatic Disorders, 2020
OBJECTIVE To investigate power of computed tomography venography (CTV) to identify and characterize iliac vein obstruction (IVO) compared with intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) examination in highly symptomatic patients with chronic venous disease (CVD).

Accessory Iliac Vein

Journal of Spinal Disorders & Techniques, 2010
One of the main difficulties in using an anterior retroperitoneal approach in prosthetic lumbar disk replacement surgery is the exposure of the anterior aspect of the spine because of the risk of hemorrhage because of vascular injury when the venous structures are mobilized. The goal of our study was to use computed tomography (CT) to research for ...

Type of anti-thrombotic therapy for venous stenting in patients with non-thrombotic iliac vein lesions does not influence the development of in-stent restenosis

Phlebology, 2020
Background In patients receiving stents for symptomatic non-thrombotic iliac vein lesions, many clinicians prescribe anti-thrombotic medications. Whether or not anti-coagulation post-venous stenting improves stent patency is unknown.

Association between deep vein thrombosis and stent patency in symptomatic iliac vein compression syndrome: systematic review and meta-analysis.

Journal of Vascular Surgery: Venous and Lymphatic Disorders, 2020
BACKGROUND The study intended to evaluate stent primary patency rates for patients with iliac vein obstruction related with iliac vein compression syndrome (IVCS) according to clinic presentation.

Venoplasty and stenting in post-thrombotic syndrome and non-thrombotic iliac vein lesion

MITAT. Minimally invasive therapy & allied technologies, 2020
Introduction: Venous outflow obstruction is a common condition among patients with chronic venous insufficiency. Endovascular treatment is favourable over open surgery.

Leiomyosarcoma of the external iliac vein

Vascular, 2012
Leiomyosarcoma of the iliac vein is an uncommon tumor. We report a case of a 63-year-old Japanese woman with leiomyosarcoma of the right external iliac vein. The patient complained of right inguinal pain and swelling. Computed tomography demonstrated a mass surrounding the right external iliac artery and vein.
