Spontaneous rupture of the iliac vein
The American Journal of Emergency Medicine, 2017Spontaneous iliac vein rupture is a rare diagnosis with less than 40 cases documented worldwide. There are certain similarities between many of the previously reported cases described in the literature and there are various proposed theories as to why patients develop a spontaneous rupture.

Idiopathic Rupture of the Iliac Vein
Archives of Surgery, 1977Idiopathic rupture of large veins is very rare. There has been one report in the Portugese literature of such an instance involving the iliac vein. Our patient was an elderly woman in whom evidence of intra-abdominal hemorrhage developed. There was no clinical evidence of trauma.

Iliac vein bypass with autogenous saphenous vein for iliac vein compression syndrome.
The American surgeon, 1988A case of chronic obstruction of the left iliac vein is presented. The patient had failed conservative management. Surgical reconstruction was performed using autogenous saphenous vein. The patient has done well; results of a venogram at six months postoperatively indicate the graft is still patent.
