Ill-posedness of the Cauchy problem for totally degenerate system of conservation laws
In this paper we answer some open questions concerning totally degenerate systems of conservation laws. We study the augmented Born-Infeld system, which is the Born-Infeld model augmented by two additional conservations laws.

Reaction Mechanism, Challenges, and Strategies of High‐Energy‐Density Sodium‐Ion Batteries
Focusing on high‐energy‐density sodium‐ion batteries, this review highlights the advantages offered by conversion‐type cathode materials. The currently studied cathode materials are systematically introduced. By analyzing sulfur, oxygen, and transition metal halides and other conversion‐type cathodes, the key challenges associated with these cathodes ...

Regularization and error estimates for nonhomogeneous backward heat problems
In this article, we study the inverse time problem for the non-homogeneous heat equation which is a severely ill-posed problem. We regularize this problem using the quasi-reversibility method and then obtain error estimates on the approximate ...

This study uncovers two overlooked bottlenecks in cryogenic laser cooling of solids: symmetry‐driven fluorescence trapping and water vapor condensation. We demonstrate that breaking sample symmetry enhances fluorescence escape, while condensation dominates parasitic heating below 135 K.
