Breaking Boundaries: First Observation of Intertidal Emergence During Mating in Octopuses [PDF]

We document the first recorded case of intertidal emergence during copulation in Callistoctopus macropus. A mating pair gradually moved from shallow water onto the rocky shore while remaining attached, with the female resisting and the male counter‐anchoring for nearly 20 min before re‐submerging.
