Azobenzene's Cross‐Scale Optics and Photonics: Molecular Photoswitching, Mesoscopic Material Motions, and Adaptive Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Azobenzene photoswitches translate molecular‐scale E/Z photoisomerization into macroscopic material responses and device‐level photonic functions. This Review highlights how azobenzene research has evolved from molecular photochemistry to photoalignment, mass migration, photomechanics, and heat release, ultimately enabling holography, reconfigurable ...

Robust motion estimation under varying illumination

open access: yes, 2008
The optical-flow approach has emerged as a major technique for estimating scene and object motion in image sequences. However, the results obtained by most optical flow techniques are strongly affected by motion discontinuities and by large illumination ...

Correlated Charge Transport in an Organic Coulomb Glass

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Advances in the development of organic field‐effect transistors (OFETs), electrically gated organic semiconductors (EGOFETs), and organic electrochemical transistors (OECTs) allow for the operation of these devices at very high charge‐carrier densities, where Coulomb interactions between carriers can be expected to become significant.

Parameter estimation of multiple pulse trains for illumination sensing

open access: yes, 2010
We consider illumination sensing in a light emitting diode (LED) lighting system based on frequency division multiplexing (FDM). In the FDM scheme, LEDs render periodical illumination pulses at different frequencies with prescribed duty cycles.

When Poor Exciton Dissociation Limits Photocurrents in Organic Solar Cells: Why Low Offset Non‐Fullerene Acceptor Blends Can't Be Efficient

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The energetic offset between the donor and the acceptor components in organic photoactive layers is central to the tradeoff between photovoltage and photocurrent losses. This Perspective covers the most important issues surrounding this topic in non‐fullerene acceptor blends, from the difficulty of accurately determining state energies and driving ...

Impacts of Variable Illumination and Image Background on Rice LAI Estimation Based on UAV RGB-Derived Color Indices

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Variations in illumination and image background present challenges for using UAV RGB imagery. Existing studies often overlook these issues, especially in rice.

Rethinking Charge Transport and Recombination in Donor‐Diluted Organic Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Organic solar cells with 1–45% PM6 content in Y12 were studied to link structure and charge dynamics to performance. The conductivity follows a 3D percolation model without a sharp threshold. Donor dilution preserves the photogeneration yield, but limits the fill factor due to transport resistance losses.

Multiple linear regression based illumination normalization for non-uniform light image thresholding

open access: yese-Prime: Advances in Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Energy
Thresholding-based two-class image binarization is one of the simplest and most popular approaches. However, the performance of global thresholding degrades under non-uniform lighting conditions.

High‐Entropy Ceramic‐Enhanced Deformable Triboelectric Nanogenerator for Noncontact Biomechanical and Raindrop Energy Harvesting

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A large‐area, deformable high‐entropy‐ceramic (HEC)‐doped triboelectric nanogenerator with a trilayer architecture is developed, consisting of an HEC‐doped triboelectric layer, a graphite‐like textile charge‐storage layer, and stretchable carbon black electrodes.

UAV-LIENet: a low-light UAV image enhancement network via illumination estimation and guidance

open access: yesJournal of King Saud University: Computer and Information Sciences
Low-light Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) image enhancement is crucial for downstream tasks such as object detection and navigation. However, low-light UAV images often have complex illumination patterns and high noise levels. Existing mainstream low-light
