Cyberpsychological Approach to the Analysis of Multisensory Integration

open access: yesКонсультативная психология и психотерапия, 2019
The paper relates to the branch of cyberpsychology associated with risk factors during immersion in a virtual environment. Specialists in the development and operation of virtual reality systems know that immersion into this environment may be ...

Illusory resizing of the painful knee is analgesic in symptomatic knee osteoarthritis [PDF]

open access: yesPeerJ, 2018
Background Experimental and clinical evidence support a link between body representations and pain. This proof-of-concept study in people with painful knee osteoarthritis (OA) aimed to determine if: (i) visuotactile illusions that manipulate perceived ...

Three elemental illusions determine theZöllner illusion [PDF]

open access: yesPerception & Psychophysics, 2000
We have discovered an apparent contraction illusion of acute angles in a special form of the Zöllner figure at the intersecting angles between 36 degrees and 83 degrees (i.e., a reversal of the Zöllner illusion). The necessary condition for this illusion is that inducing lines are long enough and the induced line (test line) is single. When an illusory

Broadband Achromatic Programmable Electromagnetic Camouflage via Fluidic‐Accessible Metasurface

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A fluidic access metasurface enables dynamic, broadband electromagnetic illusions. By physically reconstructing conductive patterns with liquid metal, the metasurface achieves real‐time, pixel‐level control over phase dispersion. This allows for the programmable generation of arbitrary strong scattering point arrays, effectively deceiving high ...

Geometrical haptic illusions revisited: Haptic illusions compared with visual illusions [PDF]

open access: yesPerception & Psychophysics, 1992
Révész (1934) reported that haptic illusions were observed in almost all of the geometrical optical illusion figures. The present study reexamined seven geometrical illusions in both haptic and visual modes. In the Müller-Lyer, Ponzo, and vertical-horizontal figures, haptic illusions equivalent to the visual illusions were observed.

Large Language Model in Materials Science: Roles, Challenges, and Strategic Outlook

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
Large language models (LLMs) are reshaping materials science. Acting as Oracle, Surrogate, Quant, and Arbiter, they now extract knowledge, predict properties, gauge risk, and steer decisions within a traceable loop. Overcoming data heterogeneity, hallucinations, and poor interpretability demands domain‐adapted models, cross‐modal data standards, and ...

Modularist explanations of experience and other illusions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Debates about modularity invariably involve a crucial premise about how visual illusions are experienced. This paper argues that these debates are wrongheaded, and that experience of illusions is orthogonal to the core issue of the ...
