Geometrical haptic illusions revisited: Haptic illusions compared with visual illusions [PDF]
Révész (1934) reported that haptic illusions were observed in almost all of the geometrical optical illusion figures. The present study reexamined seven geometrical illusions in both haptic and visual modes. In the Müller-Lyer, Ponzo, and vertical-horizontal figures, haptic illusions equivalent to the visual illusions were observed.

Data‐Driven High‐Throughput Volume Fraction Estimation From X‐Ray Diffraction Patterns
Long exposure times and the need for manual evaluation limit the use of X‐ray diffraction in high‐throughput applications. This study presents a data‐driven approach addressing both issues. HiVE (a method for High‐throughput Volume fraction Estimation) performs composition estimation for high‐noise XRD patterns produced using polychromatic emission ...

Susceptibility to optical illusions varies as a function of the autism-spectrum quotient but not in ways predicted by local–global biases [PDF]
Individuals with autism spectrum disorder and those with autistic tendencies in non-clinical groups are thought to have a perceptual style privileging local details over global integration.
