Outcome of ICG-assisted ILM peel in macular hole surgery [PDF]

open access: yesEye, 2004
To investigate whether indocyanine green (ICG) staining of the internal limiting membrane (ILM) improves surgical outcome.A total of 34 patients were identified who underwent macular hole surgery with ILM peeling augmented with ICG. These were matched retrospectively with 34 patients who underwent macular hole surgery without the use of ICG.

Retinal Vascular Tortuosity Index Change after Idiopathic Epiretinal Membrane Surgery: Does Internal Limiting Membrane Peeling Affect Retinal Vascular Tortuosity?

open access: yesDiagnostics, 2023
Background: Idiopathic epiretinal membrane (iERM) surgery is one of the most commonly performed vitreoretinal surgeries, and the issue of internal limiting membrane (ILM) peeling in ERM surgery is still controversial.

A surgical simulator for peeling the inner limiting membrane during wet conditions. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2018
The present study was performed to establish a novel ocular surgery simulator for training in peeling of the inner limited membrane (ILM). This simulator included a next-generation artificial ILM with mechanical properties similar to the natural ILM that

Papillomacular bundle sparing versus conventional internal limiting membrane peeling for idiopathic macular hole ≤400 μm

open access: yesIndian Journal of Ophthalmology, 2023
Purpose: To compare the outcomes of papillomacular bundle (PMB) sparing internal limiting membrane (ILM) peeling (group LP) and conventional ILM peeling (group CP) for treatment of idiopathic macular hole (MH) of ≤400 μm.

A useful technique of starting internal limiting membrane peeling from the edge of the internal limiting membrane defect in epiretinal membrane surgery

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, 2023
Key Clinical Message Clinicians should be aware that internal limiting membrane (ILM) defects may occur concurrently with epiretinal membrane, and starting ILM peeling at the ILM defect margin may be useful in such cases.

Comparison of the use of internal limiting membrane flaps versus conventional ILM peeling on post-operative anatomical and visual outcomes in large macular holes. [PDF]

open access: yesEye (Lond)
\ua9 The Author(s) 2024. Background: Idiopathic full-thickness macular hole (iFTMH) closure rates following conventional vitrectomy, gas tamponade and internal limiting membrane (ILM) peeling decrease when the minimum linear diameter (MLD) ≥ 500 microns.

Probe-Assisted ILM-Rhexis: A Novel Peeling Technique

open access: yes, 2023
Abstract Background and Objective: To describe a novel surgical technique of removing internal limiting membrane (ILM) using a 25 G vitrectomy probe amid epiretinal membrane (ERM)/ILM double peeling operation. Materials and Methods After standard 3-port 25-gauge pars plana vitrectomy, ERM is removed using membrane forceps and appropriate ...

Comparison of Visual Outcome and Morphologic Change between Different Surgical Techniques in Idiopathic Epiretinal Membrane Surgery

open access: yesJournal of Ophthalmology, 2018
Purpose. To investigate the morphological and functional outcomes of idiopathic epiretinal membrane (ERM) surgery between three different surgical techniques: ERM peeling only, whole-piece ILM peeling, and maculorrhexis ILM peeling. Patients and Methods.

Internal Limiting Membrane Peeling for Persistent Submacular Fluid after Successful Repair of Diabetic Tractional Retinal Detachment

open access: yesJournal of Ophthalmology, 2019
This study is for reporting the outcomes of internal limiting membrane (ILM) peeling on persistent submacular fluid (PSF) after otherwise successful pars plana vitrectomy (PPV) for diabetic tractional retinal detachment (TRD).
