Becher Method Application for Ilmenite Concentrates of Vietnam

2020
Several methods used to extract iron from ilmenite concentrate to increase TiO2 content of ilmenite concentrates such as Benelite, Ishihara, Murso, Austpac, and Becher methods. Benelite method uses HCl for leaching of reduced iron from ilmenite. Auspac method uses hot HCl while Ishihara uses hot acid H2SO4 in the leaching stage.

Reducing roasting of the ilmenite concentrates of deposit Tsentral’noe

Russian Metallurgy (Metally), 2011
The reducing roasting of the titanium-containing concentrates of deposit Tsentral’noe is studied over a wide range of operating conditions to develop a new technology of processing to exclude melting in an electric furnace. The roasting products are investigated by scanning electron microscopy and electron-probe microanalysis.

Effects of Na2CO3 on the carbothermic reduction and magnetic separation of ilmenite concentrate

open access: yesMinerals Engineering
Ilmenite concentrates are the raw material used for the production of titania pigment and metallic titanium. This work studies the effect of the addition of Na2CO3 in direct carbothermic reduction of ilmenite concentrate to enhance the separation of ...

Chlorination of reduced ilmenite concentrates and synthetic rutile

International Journal of Mineral Processing, 2011
Chlorination of reduced ilmenites of different grades (primary, secondary and HYTI 70) and synthetic rutile was investigated at 235 °C. The main phases of primary and secondary ilmenites were FeTi O and FeTiO; HYTI 70 contained TiO ; synthetic rutile consisted of titania with titanium suboxides and trace amount of iron.

Preparation of nanosized synthetic rutile from ilmenite concentrate

Minerals Engineering, 2010
Abstract In this paper, the preparation of nanosized synthetic rutile by reductive hydrochloric acid leaching of mechanically activated ilmenite concentrate (FeTiO 3 ) is discussed. X-ray fluorescence analysis of the nanosized rutile which forms by rapid hydrolysis of dissolved titanium indicates that the powder contains 91.1% TiO 2 , 1.3% Fe 2 O 3 ,

Joint processing of perovskite and ilmenite concentrates. Part 1. Chemical-mineralogical (material) characteristics of perovskite and ilmenite concentrates

Izvestiya. Ferrous Metallurgy
Russia has an impressive titanium mineral resource while the contribution into the global production of titanium concentrates is quite insignificant. The current annual demand of Russian enterprises for titanium raw materials is 40 times higher than its production. To improve and launch the processing of domestic titanium raw materials characterized by

Review of processing conditions for Murray Basin ilmenite concentrates

Mineral Processing and Extractive Metallurgy, 2014
Australia is a major world producer of heavy minerals from mineral sand deposits, but to maintain its premier position in the world market place, the development of large resources such as in the Murray Basin will be necessary. There are two types of deposits in the Murray Basin, the fine-grained (20–80 μm) WIM-type deposits and those with coarser ...

A novel technology for the refinement of low-grade ilmenite concentrate

Hydrometallurgy, 2018
Abstract In this paper, the refinement of low-grade ilmenite concentrate was studied. It was found that by transforming in NaOH/NaNO3 molten salt, and then leaching in water and in dilute hydrochloric acid, the low-grade ilmenite concentrate containing 3.09 wt% Mg, 1.03 wt% Ca, 3.38 wt% Si and 1.54 wt% Al can be refined well, meanwhile the contents ...

Propagation of Solid-Phase Iron Reduction in a Layer of Ilmenite Concentrate

Steel in Translation, 2020
Processing of titanium-containing ores together with the extraction of all the major elements is currently an urgent problem for the usage of mineral products. It is shown that none of the existing processing schemes allows the simultaneous extraction of all the major useful elements such as iron, titanium and vanadium from titanium-containing iron ...
