Perfusion Patterns of Pleura-Based Pulmonary Sarcoma Metastases on Contrast-Enhanced Ultrasound (CEUS): A Single-Center Retrospective Pilot Study

open access: yesDiagnostics
Background/Objectives: Pleura-based pulmonary nodules in soft-tissue sarcoma (STS) patients remain diagnostically challenging, and entity-specific contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) data are scarce.

Longitudinal circulating tumor DNA profiling in patients with advanced endometrial cancer using an off‐the‐shelf targeted NGS panel

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumour heterogeneity complicates precision management of advanced endometrial cancer. Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a minimally invasive strategy to capture tumor evolution and therapeutic resistance. Here, we compare tumor‐agnostic NGS with tumor‐informed ddPCR, outlining their relative sensitivity, concordance, and clinical implications ...

Microscopic assessment of lymph node status in gynecological malignancies using full-field optical coherence tomography

open access: yesScientific Reports
Accurate assessment of lymph node (LN) status is critical in cancer management, particularly in gynecological malignancies. However, preoperative identification of pathological LNs remains a significant challenge with current imaging modalities.

Interaction of HS1BP3 with cortactin modulates TKS5 localisation, cell secretion and cancer malignancy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Here, we demonstrate that HS1BP3 interacts with Cortactin through a proline‐rich region (PRR3.1) and show that this interaction, and HS1BP3 itself, promote cancer cell proliferation and invasion. Inhibition of this interaction leads to build‐up of TKS5 in multivesicular endosomes and altered secretion of CD63 and CD9, providing an explanation for the ...

Proteasome inhibitor, ixazomib prevents topoisomerase‐I degradation and reverses irinotecan resistance in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Ixazomib inhibits proteasome‐mediated degradation of topoisomerase I induced by irinotecan, thereby restoring drug sensitivity and promoting tumor cell death in colorectal cancer. Irinotecan, a topoisomerase I (topoI) inhibitor, is widely used for colorectal cancer, but resistance remains a major clinical challenge.

Image-guided femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery in Peters anomaly type 2. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
We describe a technique for image-guided femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery in a case of Peters anomaly type 2. The femtosecond laser technology enabled reliable construction of a complete capsulotomy despite central corneal opacification and a ...

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.

Assessment of spline-based 2D-3D registration for image-guided spine surgery [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
2D-3D registration of pre-operative 3D volumetric data with a series of calibrated and undistorted intra-operative 2D projection images has shown great potential in CT-based surgical navigation because it obviates the invasive procedure of the ...

Liquid biopsy‐based diagnostic evaluation of hypermethylated CpG sites for ovarian cancer diagnosis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This schematic outlines the workflow from biomarker identification to duplex MethyLight assay validation for epithelial ovarian cancer diagnosis using cfDNA‐based liquid biopsy. Initial screening of hypermethylated CpG candidates (cg02957270, cg10061138 cg00480298, COL2A1) was performed in tissue using ARMS‐PCR, COBRA, qPCR and image analysis. Selected
