The Analysis of Radiographic Images

IEEE Transactions on Computers, 1973
The problem considered is the development of a method of scene analysis that employs a descriptive approach in the analysis of pictures. In an effort to facilitate implementation of the algorithm to a wide range of picture classes, a description of the scene is read in as data in the form of a tree structure that guides the search for objects from the ...

Image analysis of crosswalk

Proceedings 11th International Conference on Image Analysis and Processing, 2002
This paper proposes a method for image analysis of a crosswalk and a traffic light. The method provides information not only about the length of a crosswalk, but also about the colour of the traffic light. The length of a crosswalk is estimated by projective geometry using white lines painted on the road at a crosswalk.

Imaging and analysis of nanowires

Microscopy Research and Technique, 2004
AbstractWe used vapor‐liquid‐solid (VLS) methods to synthesize discrete single‐element semiconductor nanowires and multicomposition nanowire heterostructures, and then characterized their structure and composition using high‐resolution electron microscopy (HRTEM) and analytical electron microscopy techniques. Imaging nanowires requires the modification

Dimensionality in image analysis

Journal of Visual Communication and Image Representation, 1992
Considering gray tone images as sets in the Euclidean space enables measurements of fundamental parameters of an image such as its surface, volume, and connectivity number. However, resulting measurements may have a questionable meaning as the gray tone axis is generally not homogeneous with the image.

Oncological Image Analysis: Medical and Molecular Image Analysis

2007 International Conference on Computing: Theory and Applications (ICCTA'07), 2007
Cancer is, after heart disease, one of the major causes of death in the developed world. One in three people in developed countries are diagnosed with cancer during their lifetime. The first part of this paper concentrates on colorectal and liver cancer, which has been the major focus of our work, primarily on a project carried out jointly with GE ...

Image Analysis of Foods

Journal of Food Science, 2015
Abstract The structure of foods, both natural and processed ones, is controlled by many variables ranging from biology to chemistry and mechanical forces. The structure also controls many of the properties of the food, including consumer acceptance, taste, mouthfeel, appearance, and so on, and nutrition.
