Image analysis in dermatopathology

Skin Research and Technology, 1995
Background/aims: Image analysis in dermatopathology has been used for DNA ploidy analysis, morphometry, stereology, and quantitative immunohistochemistry. The object is to review image analysis in dermatopathology and evaluate these modalities and their application in pigmented lesion pathology, for elucidation of tumor behaviour and architecture and ...

Analysis of thermal images

Biomedical Engineering, 1980
Broad introduction of thermovision systems in medical practice, and their multifunctional intension make it necessary to find new, more effective ways to processing and analysis of thermal patterns. Acception of these methods in medicine should provide higher diagnostic accuracy and informativeness of thermovision.

Image analysis and graphs

Computer Graphics and Image Processing, 1973
Some problems in the construction of image analysis programs are discussed. A systein is proposed which utilizes a graph to model the program control and the scene. The system is applied to chest X-rays and printed circuit hoards. A method for using heuristic programming in edge detection is discussed and applied to chest x-rays.

Image Analysis

Bread structure is a determinant of loaf volume and resilience, as well as the sensation perceived during eating, and its analysis comprises the study of the fluid phase (air), also named as void, cells or pores, and the solid phase of bread crumb (cell wall material).

ANALYSIS OF FORM IMAGES

International Journal of Pattern Recognition and Artificial Intelligence, 1994
Automatic analysis of images of forms is a problem of both practical and theoretical interest; due to its importance in office automation, and due to the conceptual challenges posed for document image analysis, respectively. We describe an approach to the extraction of text, both typed and handwritten, from scanned and digitized images of filled-out ...

Image analysis and occlusion

The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 1992
This study was designed to investigate the measurement of the occlusal contact area (surface) using commercially available equipment and computer programs for image processing and analysis. A stable occlusal record was made using an addition curing silicone rubber putty and was placed on a light source onto which a video camera was focused.

Medical Image Analysis

IEEE Pulse, 2011
Since the discovery of the X-ray radiation by Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen in 1895, the field of medical imaging has developed into a huge scientific discipline. The analysis of patient data acquired by current image modalities, such as computerized tomography (CT), magnetic resonance tomography (MRT), positron emission tomography (PET), or ultrasound (US),

On Ontology in Image Analysis

1999
Object reconstruction from remote sensed images is an actual research topic in computer vision, photogrammetry, and spatial information science. One of the most interesting related questions is the modeling of the uncertainty of knowledge gained by such a process.
