The ecology of hope: Building rainbows in education systems

open access: yesBritish Educational Research Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Hope is frequently invoked in education, yet rarely theorised. Where it has been theorised, it has been understood in two largely separate ways: as an individual psychological capacity, in the positive‐psychology tradition and as a critical‐emancipatory stance, in the pedagogy of hope.

Visualizing ESG Signaling Through User‐Generated Content: A Strategic Foresight Framework for Symbolic Legitimacy in Hospitality Branding

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Social media platforms today have become essential for consumer‐brand interactions, with visual content playing a pivotal role in shaping engagement and brand perception. Although text‐based user‐generated content (UGC) has been widely studied, the potential of visual UGC, particularly in the travel, tourism and hospitality (TTH) sector ...

Can Beauty Save the World? A Multimethod Analysis of Regulatory Focus Appeals in Climate Change Advertising

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study investigates how organizations can strategically design climate change advertising to foster greater consumer involvement by comparing the effectiveness of promotion‐ and prevention‐focused advertising appeals. Using a sequential explanatory mixed‐methods design, a facial coding experiment revealed that promotion appeals reduced ...

Multiscale Analysis of Amine‐Containing CO2 Capture Membrane via Dissipative Particle Dynamics Simulations Using Ab Initio Elongation Method‐Based Parameters

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
Elongation (ELG) method for calculating the electronic structures of aperiodic polymers was combined with dissipative particle dynamics (DPD) simulation to perform more reliable simulations using quantum chemistry (QC)‐based parameters. The method was employed to analyze phase separation in an amine‐containing CO2 capture membrane, and the results ...

Metal‐Ion Regulated Light‐Free Z→E Isomerization of Azobenzene Glycomacrocycle

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Metal ion‐catalyzed Z→E isomerization of photoswitchable azobenzene glycomacrocycle: A new azobenzene‐based glycomacrocycle is capable of forming a 1:1 complex with divalent metal ions in both E‐ and Z‐isomers. The complexes undergo light‐free Z→E isomerization in a timescale spanning from seconds to weeks.

Lanthanide Centered and Circular Polarized Luminescence (CPL) From Tb(III) Complexes Made From Structurally Simple Methoxy‐Phenyl and Phenol‐Derived Pyridyldiamide (pda) Ligands

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
The development of chiral pda derived methoxy ligands L1a [1(R,R)] and L1b [1(S,S)], along with their phenol derivatives L2a [2(R,R)] and L2b [2(S,S)], and their respective Tb(III) complexes is described. These Tb‐complexes exhibited Tb(III)‐centered emission upon and their chiroptical properties were probed by using both CD and CPL spectroscopy ...

A Low‐Oxidation‐State Mechanism for O─O Bond Formation in Photosystem II via Oxo–Hydroxyl Radical Coupling

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
An oxo–hydroxyl radical coupling mechanism is identified for O─O bond formation in Photosystem II within the low‐oxidation‐state paradigm. Ca‐bound W3 forms Ox in the S4 state and subsequently couples with O5. The resulting hydroperoxide intermediate provides a mechanistic explanation for the poor resolution of Ox in XFEL structures.
