Qualitative content analysis of image interpretation education in UK pre-registration diagnostic radiography programmes [PDF]

open access: yesRadiography, 2022
Introduction: Image interpretation is a required capability for all UK pre-registration programmes in diagnostic radiography to meet the needs of graduate practice. It also provides a potential educational foundation for future advanced clinical practice.

The analysis and overview of semantic image interpretation

Proceedings of the ITI 2009 31st International Conference on Information Technology Interfaces, 2009
Currently, the main challenge of CBIR is bridging the so-called semantic gap. A question emerges whether visual similarity is reliable for grading semantic similarity and how complex the problem of semantic interpretation of an image really is? Using the UML class diagram, a model for semantic interpretation of general images is presented.

Image Interpretation and Analysis

2013
The interpretation and analysis of remote sensing imagery involves the identification and/or measurement of various targets or objects in an image in order to extract useful information about them. More specifically, this seeks to extract qualitative (thematic) and quantitative (metric) information from remote sensing data.

Interpretation of microscopic image analysis of cell nuclei

Computerized Medical Imaging and Graphics, 1990
This study shows that microscopic image analyses of nuclear DNA have common characteristics among fixation methods and tissue types. We find that microscopic imaging measurements require both nuclear area and DNA concentration to properly convey diagnostic information.

An image analysis, application for aerial imagery interpretation

[1990] Proceedings. 10th International Conference on Pattern Recognition, 2002
The architecture of an image analysis system called MESSIE (Multi Expert System for Scene Interpretation and Evaluation) is presented. This system reasons from geometric models which are represented by four concepts (geometry, radiometry, context, and function).

Encephalic NMR image analysis by textural interpretation

Proceedings of the 2008 ACM symposium on Applied computing, 2008
The novel technologies used in different application domains allow to obtain digital images with a high complex informative content. These meaningful information are expressed by textural skin that covers the objects represented inside the images. The textural information can be exploited to interpret the semantic meaning of the images themselves. This

Automatic interpretation of cadasters by image analysis techniques

Proceedings of 1st International Conference on Image Processing, 2002
Vectorization plays an important role for map interpretation in geographic information systems. A new method to convert a raster map into a vector is proposed. A scanner was used to convert the paper source map into a raster representation. Text and graphics in the raster image are first segmented.

Knowledge-based image analysis for geophysical interpretation

Journal of Intelligent & Robotic Systems, 1993
Geophysical seismic interpretation is part of geophysical oil prospecting. It evaluates and analyses seismic reflection data, aiming at the detection of the position of hydrocarbon reservoirs. This paper provides a review of current efforts to automate, at least partially, seismic interpretation.

Root Image Analysis and Interpretation

2000
For the description and modelling of root and shoot growth, quantitative information on root morphology and architecture has to be gathered in ecological, agronomic, biological and physiological studies of soil exploration and water and nutrient uptake by root systems.
