Radar Image Interpretability Analysis.
1981Abstract : The utility of radar images with respect to trained image interpreter ability to identify, classify and detect specific terrain features (linear, natural area, complex area features, and individual man-made features) was qualitatively determined.

Basic Image Analysis and Interpretation
1990Satellite radiometric measurements can be converted into images of clouds, land, oceans, atmospheric water vapor, dust, and smoke. Much effort has been expended in learning to interpret these remotely sensed images, particularly with respect to identification and development of significant cloud types and patterns.

Algebraic Interpretation of Image Analysis Operations
Pattern Recognition and Image Analysis, 2019The study is devoted to mathematical and functional/physical interpretation of image analysis and processing operations used as sets of operations (ring elements) in descriptive image algebras (DIA) with one ring. The main result is the determination and characterization of interpretation domains of DIA operations: image algebras that make it possible ...

Map analysis for guided interpretation of aerial images
1998We present a set of procedures to extract useful information from maps of cities in order to help in interpreting aerial images. The aim of this work is to combine semantic information issued from the map with the raw information coming from a picture. Several cues can be extracted from maps. The road network gives the structure of the city and cut the

Polarization images: a geometric interpretation for shape analysis
Proceedings 15th International Conference on Pattern Recognition. ICPR-2000, 2002Presents a framework for the geometric interpretation of a single polarization image taken of specular reflecting objects. The task of recovering 3D shape information of specular objects from intensity images is a difficult if not impossible one, as no intensity based features are available.

Automatic Analysis And Interpretation Of Medical Images
[1990] Proceedings of the Twelfth Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, 2005- We shall define a methodology for aid to the interpretation of medical images and their automatic analysis, in this case using a bone scintigraphy. We consider 3 stages as being necessary to the interpretation:1/ a stage of segmentation and contour delineation, 21 a stage of identification of the shapes relevant to the interpretation, 3/ a stage of ...

Digital image interpretation by analysis of image-image correspondence
Photogrammetria, 1985Abstract The correspondence of uninterpreted digital images derived from a space-borne multi-spectral scanner (MSS) with high resolution images was studied in developing a quantitative approach to digital image interpretation. In general terms, the method involved enumeration of the co-occurrence of interpreted classes from a familiar image with the ...

Semi-automatic analysis and interpretation of sediment profile images
Environmental Modelling & Software, 2013Sediment Profile Images (SPIs) are widely used for benthic ecological quality assessment under various environmental stressors. The processing of the information contained in SPIs is slow and its interpretation is largely operator dependent. We report here on a new software: SpiArcBase, which allows for a semi-automatic analysis of SPIs and facilitates

Image analysis and interpretation for semantics categorization in baseball video
Proceedings ITCC 2003. International Conference on Information Technology: Coding and Computing, 2004The semantic information in videos is useful for content-based video retrieval and summarization. Traditional image/video understanding is formulated in terms of low-level features describing the structure and intensity of the input image/video. The way to generate the high-level knowledge such as common sense and human perceptual knowledge is one of ...

Integrated analysis of thermal and visual images for scene interpretation
IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence, 1988An approach for computer perception of outdoor scenes is presented. The approach is based on integrating information extracted from thermal images and visual images, which provides information not available by processing either type of image alone. The thermal image is analyzed to provide estimates of surface temperature.
