APPLICATIONS OF ACOUSTIC IMAGE LOGS

Proceedings of Latin American and Caribbean Petroleum Engineering Conference, 1997
Abstract Acoustic image logs have been acquired in the Barua/Motatan and Mara fields as a part of the information acquisition program implemented by Maraven, S.A. to improve the efficiency of reservoir exploitation.

Image hashing by LoG-QCSLBP

Proceedings of the 2nd International Conference on Communication and Information Processing, 2016
This paper presents an image hashing algorithm for authentication and tampering based on texture features. Center Symmetric Local Binary Pattern (CSLBP) feature is computationally simple, rotation invariant which works in spatial domain. In CSLBP, number of histogram bin for each sub block of an image is 16, unlike 256 bin in Local Binary Pattern (LBP).

The Sholl analysis of neuronal cell images: Semi-log or log–log method?

Journal of Theoretical Biology, 2007
Although the Sholl analysis is a quantitative method for morphometric neuronal studies and its application provides many benefits to neurobiology since it is obvious, common and meaningful, there are many unresolved theoretical issues that need to be addressed. Nevertheless, it can be practiced without much background or sophistication.

Food log by analyzing food images

Proceedings of the 16th ACM international conference on Multimedia, 2008
In this paper, a food-logging system that can distinguish food images from other images, analyze the food balance, and visualize the log is presented. The image processing is based on feature vectors consisting of color histograms, DCT coefficients, detected image patterns and so forth. Support Vector Machine (SVM) was used to detect food images and to

Image Statistic Models Characterize Well Log Image Quality

IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Letters, 2019
Assessing the image quality of well logs is essential to ensure the accuracy of their digitization and subsequent processing. Currently, the suitability of well logs for information retrieval is solely determined on the basis of subjective judgments of their image quality by human experts. The success of natural scene statistics (NSS)-based models that

Dynamic Vergence Using Log-Polar Images

International Journal of Computer Vision, 1997
Vergence provides robot vision systems with a crucial degree of freedom: it enables fixation of points in visual space at different distances from the observer. Vergence control, therefore, affects the performance of the stereo system as well as the results of motion estimation and tracking and, as such, must satisfy different requirements in order to ...

Detection of cracks in computer tomography images of logs

Pattern Recognition Letters, 2005
Computer Tomography (CT) is being increasingly employed for automated detection and localization of internal defects in logs prior to their sawing. Reliable detection and localization of cracks in CT images of logs is particularly important from the viewpoint of lumber production planning since the presence of cracks substantially reduces the value and

Image mosaic using Log-polar binning

The First Asian Conference on Pattern Recognition, 2011
Image mosaic is a large image assembled from many smaller tiles which one tile itself is an actual image. In this research, we introduce an efficient method to make image mosaic. Our method is based on Log-polar mapping which enables us to detect the color and shape change. We also successfully make an image mosaic version by exploiting GPU power.
