Lossless and lossy compression of DNA microarray images
Data Compression Conference, 2004. Proceedings. DCC 2004, 2004This paper presents a new approach for lossless and lossy compression of DNA microarray images. A DNA microarray is a single stranded DNA fragments, arranged on a glass or nylon slide where the hybridized spots can be detected and extracted by laser scanning of the microarray.

Lossy compression of images using logic minimization
Proceedings Twelfth International Conference on VLSI Design. (Cat. No.PR00013), 1999A technique for lossy compression of images is presented, utilizing ideas of logic minimization. The approach specifically addresses the compression of the binary image data originated in block truncation coding (BTC). The binary vector corresponding to a block of 4/spl times/4 pixels is treated as the output of a Boolean function and prime cubes are ...

Transform Based Lossy Compression of Multispectral Images
Pattern Analysis & Applications, 2001We have composed compression methods, which are based on the one-, two- and three-dimensional wavelet transforms. In addition, clustering the spectra of the image is considered. These compression methods, combining compression in the spectral and spatial domains, are compared by using a dataset of 65 multispectral images.

Anti-Forensics of Lossy Predictive Image Compression
IEEE Signal Processing Letters, 2015Image compression evidence has been utilized as an important forensic feature to justify image authenticity. However, some recent studies showed that the compression evidence of block transform-based image coding, e.g., JPEG and JPEG2000, can be effectively erased by adding designed dither noise in the transform domain.

Quincunx lifting scheme for lossy image compression
Proceedings 2000 International Conference on Image Processing (Cat. No.00CH37101), 2002Quincunx sampling is of large interest for image coding applications. Recent remote sensors of satellites return quincunx sampled images. Moreover, a quincunx sampling allows the decomposition of the image into two channels and a twice as accurate multiresolution analysis as the dyadic one.
