A generic postprocessing technique for image compression

open access: yes, 2001
A postprocessing approach is developed for image coding applications. In this approach, a distortion-recovery model extracts multi-resolution edge features from the decompressed image and uses these visual features as input to estimate the difference ...

Mycobacterial cell division arrest and smooth‐to‐rough envelope transition using CRISPRi‐mediated genetic repression systems

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing and phenotypic exploration in nontuberculous mycobacteria. In this Research Protocol, we describe approaches to control, monitor, and quantitatively assess CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing in M. smegmatis and M. abscessus model organisms.

A Sharing-Based Fragile Watermarking Method for Authentication and Self-Recovery of Image Tampering

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing, 2008
This study presents an authentication method with self-recovery ability. The hidden watermark in the proposed method not only detects and locates the tampered portion of an image, but also self-recovers the tampered portion.

BIP: A dimensionality reduction for image indexing

open access: yesICT Express, 2019
Searching on internet is one of the daily task done by millions of users around the Globe. There is an urge for effective indexing scheme for unstructured data, which provide better search results. The image, content report, and site pages are said to be

Reversible watermarking scheme with image-independent embedding capacity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Permanent distortion is one of the main drawbacks of all the irreversible watermarking schemes. Attempts to recover the original signal after the signal passing the authentication process are being made starting just a few years ago. Some common problems,

Nuclear pore links Fob1‐dependent rDNA damage relocation to lifespan control

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Damaged rDNA accumulates at a specific perinuclear interface that couples nucleolar escape with nuclear envelope association. Nuclear pores at this site help inhibit Fob1‐induced rDNA instability. This spatial organization of damage handling supports a functional link between nuclear architecture, rDNA stability, and replicative lifespan in yeast.

Psychological and Cortisol Responses to and Recovery From Exposure to a Body Image Threat

open access: yesSAGE Open, 2016
The majority of body image research has failed to measure what occurs beyond the immediate presentation of a body image threat, or after a body image threat is no longer present. This is particularly true for physiological outcomes.

A light‐triggered Time‐Resolved X‐ray Solution Scattering (TR‐XSS) workflow with application to protein conformational dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

Development of human monoclonal antibodies against TARM1 by yeast display

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Human monoclonal antibodies against TARM1 are generated by yeast display‐guided selection. These antibodies bind to soluble and cell‐surface forms of TARM1. Also, these antibodies exhibit agonistic activity in the NFAT‐GFP reporter assay, indicating that TARM1 signaling can be functionally modulated by antibodies and suggesting TARM1 as a potential ...
