Gradient-domain image decomposition for image recovery
2015 IEEE International Conference on Image Processing (ICIP), 2015This paper aims to introduce a convex prior based on gradient-domain image decomposition (GID) for image recovery. As a useful class of convex priors, total variation (TV) and its variants have been widely investigated. Among them, total generalized variation (TGV) is paid much attention recently, because it provides rich visual quality around edges ...

Iterated denoising for image recovery
Proceedings DCC 2002. Data Compression Conference, 2003We propose an algorithm for image recovery where completely lost blocks in an image/video-frame are recovered using spatial information surrounding these blocks. Our primary application is on lost regions of pixels containing textures, edges and other image features that are not readily handled by prevalent recovery and error concealment algorithms ...

Tamper detection and image recovery for BTC-compressed images
Multimedia Tools and Applications, 2016To ensure the integrity of images compressed using block truncation coding (BTC), a tamper detection and image recovery scheme is proposed in this paper. In this scheme, the size of the authentication data can be adaptively selected according to the user’s requirement.

Detail Recovery in Medical Images Denoising
2019 IEEE Biomedical Circuits and Systems Conference (BioCAS), 2019Details in medical images are important for doctors’ diagnosis. However, the images processed by current image denoising methods tend to be over-smooth at edges to some extent due to the lack of special attention to details. In order to remove noises and preserve details of medical images, we propose a GAN-based network named SDGAN which focuses on the

Image repair is based on the incomplete image and the prior knowledge of the original image, and the corresponding region defect is corrected by using corresponding methods to achieve the purpose of restoring the original appearance of the image (Gonzalez and Woods 2018; Sonka et al. 2014; Zhang 2015b).

Total variation information in image recovery
Proceedings 2003 International Conference on Image Processing (Cat. No.03CH37429), 2004Total variation has proven to be a valuable concept in connection with the recovery of images featuring piecewise smooth components. So far, however, it has been used exclusively as an objective to be minimized under a single constraint. In this paper, we propose an alternative framework in which total variation is used as a constraint in a general ...

Shape Recovery Using HDR Images
Computer Graphics, Imaging and Visualisation (CGIV 2007), 2007In this paper, an effective method for shape recovery using HDRI (high dynamic range images) is proposed. Firstly, an accurate reflectance map for a reference sphere relating its radiance values and corresponding normals is established, then the set of candidate normals of each target point comprising the same material are found by comparing its ...

Boundary artifact in inversion‐recovery images
Magnetic Resonance in Medicine, 1986AbstractModulus reconstruction of inversion‐recovery images causes a pixel value to be assigned the absolute magnitude of the signal amplitude. Consequently, contrast between tissues is reduced if they have amplitudes of opposite sign. When contrast is reduced between adjacent tissues, dark line artifacts are created at the tissue boundaries.

Wavelet Based Image Authentication and Recovery
Journal of Computer Science and Technology, 2007In this paper, we propose a secure semi-fragile watermarking technique based on integer wavelet transform with a choice of two watermarks to be embedded. A self-recovering algorithm is employed, that hides the image digest into some wavelet subbands for detecting possible illicit object manipulation undergone in the image.

Active underwater descattering and image recovery
Applied Optics, 2017Underwater imaging is a promising but challenging topic due to the scattering particles in water, which result in serious light attenuation. Therefore, underwater images suffer from low-contrast and low-resolution issues. In this study, in order to recover high-quality underwater images, the point spread functions (PSFs) are estimated by a slant-edge ...
