Finding novel vulnerabilities of hypomorphic BRCA1 alleles

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Synthetic lethality screens performed to identify novel vulnerabilities often model complete gene loss, thereby overlooking patient‐derived hypomorphic mutations. In this study, we have performed genome‐wide CRISPR screens on BRCA1 hypomorphic mutations, showing BRCA1I26A behaves like wild‐type, while BRCA1R1699Q mimics deficiency. Furthermore, we have

Research on motion blurred image restoration

open access: yes, 2012
Motion Blurred Image Restoration is an important part of the image processing. We begin with an analysis of the degradation model of motion-blurred images. In this paper, we introduce and compare several recovery algorithms.

Fast Image Restoration Method Based on the Multi-Resolution Layer [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
When transmitted through a poor quality network or stored on an unstable storage media, block-based code images will experience the block loss. To restore damaged images suffering from block loss, Best Neighborhood Matching and Jump and Look-Around BNM ...

Spatially Adaptive Intensity Bounds for Image Restoration

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing, 2003
Spatially-adaptive intensity bounds on the image estimate are shown to be an effective means of regularising the ill-posed image restoration problem.

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Image restoration for digital line drawings using line masks

open access: yesGraphical Models
The restoration of digital images holds practical significance due to the fact that degradation of digital image data on the internet is common. State-of-the-art image restoration methods usually employ end-to-end trained networks. However, we argue that

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.

Structural Similarity-Based Nonlocal Variational Models for Image Restoration

open access: yes, 2019
© 1992-2012 IEEE. In this paper, we propose and develop a novel nonlocal variational technique based on structural similarity (SS) information for image restoration problems.

Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.
