Map-Enhanced UAV Image Sequence Registration and Synchronization of Multiple Image Sequences

2007 IEEE Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition, 2007
Registering consecutive images from an airborne sensor into a mosaic is an essential tool for image analysts. Strictly local methods tend to accumulate errors, resulting in distortion. We propose here to use a reference image (such as a high resolution map image) to overcome this limitation.

Robust Image Sequence Mosaicing

2003
Mosaicing is a technique to efficiently condense the static information of an image sequence within one extended mosaic image. The core of mosaicing is to estimate a global transformation between images due to the global camera motion. This is usually accomplished by either matching segmented image features or exploiting all iconic image data directly ...

From image sequence to mosaic image

SPIE Proceedings, 2001
A 3D plenoptic function in the form of a mosaic image is presented in this paper. A sequence of plane images and relative cylinder panoramas are sampled original ly by a camera constrained on a line. Then, these original images are arranged in to a mosaic image by abstracting appropriate circles from the images and pasting them together.

Lighting Alignment for Image Sequences

2015
Lighting is one of the challenges for image processing. Even though some algorithms are proposed to deal with the lighting variation for images, most of them are designed for a single image but not for image sequences. In fact, the correlation between frames can provide useful information to remove the illumination diversity, which is not available for

Deriving intrinsic images from image sequences

Proceedings Eighth IEEE International Conference on Computer Vision. ICCV 2001, 2002
Intrinsic images are a useful midlevel description of scenes proposed by H.G. Barrow and J.M. Tenenbaum (1978). An image is de-composed into two images: a reflectance image and an illumination image. Finding such a decomposition remains a difficult problem in computer vision.

Image segmentation for compression of images and image sequences

IEE Proceedings - Vision, Image, and Signal Processing, 1995
Region-based image coding schemes, the so-called second generation techniques, have gained much favour in recent years. For still picture coding, they can increase the compression ratio obtained by transform coding by an order of magnitude, while maintaining adequate image representation.
