The Stitching of Images

2006 IEEE International Conference on Automation, Quality and Testing, Robotics, 2006
The paper focuses on some methods that allow the merging of images. The equalizing of the brightness and the modification of color are two issues which are taken into consideration. Problems that occur when stitching images are also dealt with. For solving stitching problem a genetic algorithm is proposed.

Human-centric panoramic imaging stitching

Proceedings of the 3rd Augmented Human International Conference, 2012
We introduce a novel image mosaicing algorithm to generate 360° landscape images while also taking into account the presence of people at the boundaries between stitched images. Current image mosaicing techniques tend to fail when there is extreme parallax caused by nearby objects or moving objects at the boundary between images.

Feature-based panoramic image stitching

2016 14th International Conference on Control, Automation, Robotics and Vision (ICARCV), 2016
In this paper, a panoramic image stitching algorithm is presented. The aim of image stitching is to detect several images of the same scene and merge them to create a larger image. This is achieved by first detecting the overlapping area of the acquired images, and then aligning and blending the seams of the images automatically to create a seamless ...

A Variational Approach for Image Stitching I

SIAM Journal on Imaging Sciences, 2013
The main aim of this paper is to develop an algorithm for image stitching. Our idea is to propose a variational approach containing an energy functional to determine both a weighting mask function and a stitched image together. The existence of a solution of the proposed energy functional is shown.

Stitching algorithms for biological specimen images

International Journal of Computational Vision and Robotics, 2011
In this paper, we address the problem of combining multiple overlapping image sections of biological specimens to obtain a single image containing the entire specimen. This is useful in the digitisation of a large number of biological specimens stored in museum collections and laboratories.

Image stitching techniques

2011
Image stitching or photo stitching is the process of combining multiple photographic images with overlapping fields of view to produce a segmented panorama or high-resolution image. Commonly performed through the use of computer software, most approaches to image stitching require nearly exact overlaps between images and identical exposures to produce ...

Image Stitching for Dual Fisheye Cameras

2018 25th IEEE International Conference on Image Processing (ICIP), 2018
Panoramic photography creates stunning immersive visual experiences for viewers. In this paper, we investigate how to seamlessly stitch a pair of images captured by two uncalibrated, back-to-back, 195-degree fisheye cameras to generate a surround view of a 3D scene.

Day and Night Image Stitching and Rendering

2017
We present a new method to day and night image stitching and rendering for exploring the space-time continuum within a two-dimensional still photograph. Our method is based on a two-scale decomposition of the input images. Homography matrix is calculated by matching feature points of detail layer pairs, which can avoid impact of illumination.

Dual-correlation transformation for image stitching

Journal of Electronic Imaging, 2018
In order to obtain accurate and stable image stitching results, we propose a stitching method for two images captured from different viewpoints based on correlation transformation. Aiming at resolving the limitation of the projective transformation that is commonly used in image stitching, a transformation called dual-correlation transformation is ...
