Segmentation of textured images

Proceedings CVPR '89: IEEE Computer Society Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition, 2003
The authors present a method for texture segmentation that does not assume any prior knowledge about either the type of textures or the number of textured regions present in the image. Local orientation and spatial frequencies are used as the key parameters for classifying texture.

Steganalyzing Texture Images

2007 IEEE International Conference on Image Processing, 2007
A texture image is of noisy nature in its spatial representation. As a result, the data hidden in texture images, in particular in raw texture images, are hard to detect with current steganalytic methods. We propose an effective universal steganalyzer in this paper, which combines features, i.e., statistical moments of 1-D and 2-D characteristic ...

On texture in document images

Proceedings 1992 IEEE Computer Society Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition, 2003
A multichannel filtering-based texture segmentation method is applied to a variety of document image processing problems: text-graphics separation, address-block location, and bar code localization. In each of these segmentation problems, the text context or bar code in the image is considered to define a unique texture.

The pixelflow texture and image subsystem

Computers & Graphics, 1996
Abstract Texturing and imaging have become essential tasks for high-speed, high-quality rendering systems. They make possible effects such as photo-textures, environment maps, decals, modulated transparency, shadows, environment maps, and bump maps, to name just a few.
