Microscopy allows for the characterization of small objects invisible to the naked eye, a technique that, since its conception, has played a key role in the development across nearly every field of science and technology. Given the nanometer size of the materials explored in the field of nanotechnology, the contributions of modern microscopes that can ...

Diagnostic Imaging System Evaluation
Medical Decision Making, 1982The purpose of this paper is to introduce new methodology for the evaluation of diagnostic imaging systems based on the assessment of diagnostic features by human observers. This methodology is intended to supplement the usual receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve approach to imaging system evaluation.

The recent introduction of a two dimensional interactive software package provides a new technique for quantitative analysis. Integrated with its corresponding peripherals, the same software offers either film or video data reduction. Digitized data points measured from the images are stored in the computer.

Integrated optical imaging system
Applied Optics, 1990A planar version of a 4f imaging system is described where the input object and the lenses are integrated on one side of a single quartz glass substrate. The lenses were implemented as diffractive lenses with four discrete phase levels.

Imaging the neurovisual system
Ophthalmology Clinics of North America, 2004This article reviews the neuroimaging modalities commonly used in neuro-ophthalmology. These modalities are illustrated with several cases in an atlas format to highlight the differences between each technique. The focus is a review of MRI, MR angiography, CT,CT angiography, and digital subtraction angiography.
