The influence of the immersion of lemon fruit in aqueous imazalil (IMZ) mixtures at 25 or 50 degrees C on the deposition and persistence of IMZ within the fruit rind and its effectiveness in controlling postharvest green mold, caused by Penicillium digitatum, was investigated.

A modification of imazalil residue analysis in treated grapefruit
Journal of Environmental Science and Health, Part B, 1981Residues of imazalil, 1-[2-(2,4-dichlorophenyl)-2-(2-propenyloxy)ethyl]-1H-imidazole, a fungicide that prevents decay of citrus, were determined in treated grapefruit. The method consists of a simplified heptance-isoamyl extraction solvent, acid-base clean-up, and direct gas chromatographic analysis with electron-capture detection.

Observations on the antisporulant activity of imazalil (enilconazole)
Pesticide Science, 1984AbstractImazalil, incorporated in a solid nutrient medium, had no effect on the sporulation of Penicillium italicum at concentrations that did not strongly inhibit mycelial growth. However, when the fungus was grown submerged in liquid culture, sporulation of P. italicum appeared to be more affected than vegetative growth; at 33 nM, imazalil completely

Cytogenetic and genotoxic assessment in Allium cepa exposed to imazalil fungicide
Environmental Science and Pollution Research, 2020Imazalil (IMZ), a fungicide containing imidazole group, is extensively used for the prevention and treatment of fungal diseases in plants. Current study was performed to examine cyto-genotoxic potential of IMZ on Allium cepa roots by following Allium ana-telophase and single cell gel electrophoresis (comet) assays.

SOLUTION STRUCTURE OF IMAZALIL/β-CYCLODEXTRIN INCLUSION COMPLEX
Acta Horticulturae, 2005The effectiveness of the Imazalil fungicide is hampered by its water solubility, intrinsically very low: preparation of Imazalil/β-Cyclodextrins inclusion complexes in equimolar ratio resulted in an efficient and convenient water soluble formulation, thus resulting in a simple and non expensive preparation of the fungicide.

Reproductive and neurobehavioral effects of imazalil administered to mice
Reproductive Toxicology, 1995The fungicide imazalil was given in the diet at levels of 0 (control), 0.012, 0.024, and 0.048% from 5 weeks of age of the F0 generation to 9 weeks of age in the F1 generation in mice, and selected reproductive and neurobehavioral parameters were measured.

Study of Imazalil Residues in Glasshouse Minicucumber Pickles
International Journal of Environmental Analytical Chemistry, 2001Abstract Brined minicucumbers, brine, pickles, and pickling juice were analysed for imazalil (IMA) residues and T824 by HPLC after glasshouse minicucumbers IMA-treated were submitted to pickling. The distribution of IMA on minicucumber prior to pickling, seven days after treatment, increased somewhat from peel to flesh and core. Most of it was detected

Imazalil residue loading and green mould control in citrus packhouses
Postharvest Biology and Technology, 2011Abstract Imazalil (IMZ) is commonly applied in South African citrus packhouses for the control of green mould, caused by Penicillium digitatum, yet the disease still causes significant postharvest losses. The maximum residue limit (MRL) for IMZ on citrus fruit is 5 μg g−1, whereas 2–3 μg g−1 is a biologically effective residue level that should at ...

AbstractImazalil [1‐[2‐(2,4‐dichlorophenyl)‐2‐(2‐propenyloxyl‐ethyl]‐1 H imidazole] is a systemic fungicide that is toxic to a number of plant pathogens, particularly species of Penicillum. Its activity is based on the inhibition of mold sporulation on fruit skin, which makes it one of the most commonly used fungicide in post‐harvest citrus treatments ...
