Imidazolinone-Tolerant Rice Response to Imazethapyr Application

Weed Technology, 2006
Greenhouse research was conducted to evaluate shoot and root growth response of imidazolinone-tolerant (IT) rice cultivars to imazethapyr applied postemergence at various rates and application timings. Imazethapyr was applied at 70, 140, and 280 g ai/ha to IT cultivars ‘CL 121’ and ‘CL 161’ in the one- to two-leaf and three- to four-leaf growth stages.

Imazethapyr plus Propanil Programs in Imidazolinone-Resistant Rice

Weed Technology, 2011
Field studies were conducted in 2008 and 2009 near Crowley, Louisiana, to evaluate the addition of different propanil formulations in mixture with a standard imazethapyr program of 70 g ai ha−1early postemergence followed by (fb) 70 g ha−1late postemergence. Weeds evaluated included red rice, barnyardgrass, Texasweed, and alligatorweed.

Influence of Soil pH−Sorption Interactions on Imazethapyr Carry-over

Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2000
Soil pH affects imazethapyr sorption-desorption, which in turn can affect persistence and bioavailability. Long-term imazethapyr carry-over has been observed in soil that is below pH 6.5, resulting in significant sugarbeet damage. Imazethapyr concentration decreased rapidly in field soil, regardless of pH.

Metabolism of Imazethapyr (AC 263499) Herbicide in Corn

Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 1994
Imazethapyr [5-ethyl-2-(4-isopropyl-4-methyl-5-oxo-2-imidazolin-2-yl)nicotinic acid] is the active ingredient of imidazolinone PURSUIT herbicide. A confined plot field experiment was conducted to determine the metabolism of 14 C-6-pyridine-labeled imazethapyr in imidazolinone-tolerant corn after a single postemergence treatment at a rate of 0.25 lb ae/

Enantioselectivity effects of imazethapyr enantiomers to metabolic responses in mice

Pesticide Biochemistry and Physiology, 2020
Imazethapyr (IMZT) is a typical chiral pesticide with two enantiomers with the R-IMZT having the main herbicidal activity. However, the enantioselectivity of the effects of IMZT enantiomers on human and animals is still unclear. In this study, a nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR)-based metabolomics method and determination of oxidative stress were used ...

Imazethapyr Co-Application Interactions in Imidazolinone-Resistant Rice

Weed Technology, 2015
A study was conducted to evaluate interactions of imazethapyr co-application with propanil, thiobencarb, or a prepackaged mixture of propanil plus thiobencarb. At 7, 14, 21, and 49 d after treatment (DAT), synergism occurred for red rice treated with imazethapyr at 70 g ai ha−1mixed with propanil plus thiobencarb at 1,680 and 3,360 g ai ha−1.

Chemical Regulation of Alfalfa/Grass Mixtures with Imazethapyr

Agronomy Journal, 1990
AbstractGrowth regulators can improve forage grass quality, but they have not been evaluated for quality enhancement with grass‐legume mixtures. A field experiment was conducted for 2 yr to investigate the effects of applications of imazethapyr [5‐ethyl‐2‐(4‐isopropyl‐4‐methyl‐5‐oxo‐2‐imidazolin‐2‐yl) nicotinic acid] on production and quality of ...

Response of white bean (Phaseolus vulgaris) to imazethapyr

Crop Protection, 2008
Abstract Tolerance of white bean to the pre-emergence application of imazethapyr at the dose of 0, 25, 50, 75, 150 and 300 g ai ha−1 was studied at 11 Ontario, Canada locations over a 3-year period. White bean tolerance to imazethapyr was dependent on dose and environmental conditions.

Imazethapyr plus Propanil Mixtures in Imidazolinone-Resistant Rice

Weed Technology, 2017
AbstractA study was conducted in three locations in Louisiana to evaluate interactions of imazethapyr at 0 and 70 g ai ha−1mixed with propanil at 0, 1,120, 2,240, 3,360, and 4,480 g ha−1for the control of red rice, barnyardgrass, and hemp sesbania.

Imazethapyr Enantioselectively Affects Chlorophyll Synthesis and Photosynthesis in Arabidopsis thaliana

Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2013
Imazethapyr (IM) is a chiral herbicide with reported enantioselective biological activities between its enantiomers. This report investigated the effect of enantioselectivity between R- and S-IM in Arabidopsis thaliana on chlorophyll synthesis and photosynthesis.
