Redox‐Dependent Chaperoning of GBF1 Condensates Regulates Seed Germination in Arabidopsis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In dormant seeds (low ROS), GBF1 forms liquid condensates to repress the germination gene CathB3, and the chaperone GIP1 maintains condensate liquidity and repressive activity. Upon imbibition (high ROS), ROS oxidize GIP1 during germination, impairing its chaperone function.

Recent Advances in Laser‐Induced Graphene‐Based Gas Sensors: From Sensing Mechanisms to Biomedical Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Laser‐induced graphene (LIG) provides a scalable, laser‐direct‐written route to porous graphene architecture with tunable chemistry and defect density. Through heterojunction engineering, catalytic functionalization, and intrinsic self‐heating, LIG achieves highly sensitive and selective detection of NOX, NH3, H2, and humidity, supporting next ...

Imbibition behaviors in shale nanoporous media from pore-scale perspectives [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
In shale reservoirs, spontaneous imbibition is an important mechanism of fracturing fluid loss, which has an important impact on enhanced oil recovery and water resource demand.

Epithelial TRIM27 Inhibits Intestinal Inflammation in Ulcerative Colitis by the USP7/TRIM27‐IKK Double Negative‐Feedback

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The E3 ubiquitin ligase tripartite motif 27 (TRIM27) is a negative regulator of NF‐κB activation and the innate immune response, and TRIM27 deficiency significantly impairs dextran sulfate sodium (DSS)‐induced colitis. The function of TRIM27 in intestinal epithelial cells (IECs), the mechanism by which TRIM27 inhibits the NF‐κB pathway and its

Quantitative study on contribution of dynamic imbibition to oil production during fracturing and huff-n-puff in tight reservoirs

open access: yesShiyou shiyan dizhi
Fracturing and huff-n-puff in tight reservoirs is a dynamic imbibition process, where crude oil recovery is enhanced mainly through two mechanisms: differential pressure displacement and spontaneous imbibition. However, the contribution rate of these two

Imbibition in Disintegration.

open access: yesExperimental Biology and Medicine, 1931
Studies of the lethal effects of cyanide solutions on Amblystoma punctatum embryos have demonstrated that water relations play an important role in their subsequent disintegration. The manner in which this water is taken up, whether by osmosis or imbibition, has received little attention.

A Synergistic Hydrogel‐Microalgae Platform for Dual‐Targeting of Intestinal and Neuroimmune Dysfunction in Inflammatory Bowel Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A bioactive hydrogel incorporating Chlorella vulgaris and paeoniflorin within a carboxymethyl chitosan/sodium alginate matrix cross‐linked with genipin is developed for inflammatory bowel disease therapy. The hydrogel exhibits gastric stability and intestine‐responsive release.

Gasdermin D‐Mediated Release of IL‐33 Results in Fetal Brain Developmental Abnormalities During Maternal Colitis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Under colitis, Gsdmd mediates the release of IL‐33 from the epithelium of pregnant mice. IL‐33 can cross the placenta and enhance the proliferative capacity of neural stem cells, ultimately resulting in behavioral deficits in the offspring. Excessive pyroptosis in the colonic epithelium also triggers the translocation of LPS, which in turn increases ...

Self-Driven Fluid Imbibition of Salt Solutions into Mesoporous Films

open access: yes
Fluid water imbibition into nanoscale porous materials is important in nature and technology and has been shown to follow Lucas-Washburn behavior. Looking at drop imbibition into nanoscale porous films the imbibition reaches a steady state governed by ...
