Understanding the paradox of primary teacher shortage in low‐income countries: Insights from Malawi

open access: yesBritish Educational Research Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Malawi faces a persistent and chronic teacher shortage, particularly at the primary school level, with much of the challenge attributed to teacher supply constraints. ZFIRE: Using H$\alpha$ equivalent widths to investigate the in situ initial mass function at z~2 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
We use the ZFIRE survey (http://zfire.swinburne.edu.au) to investigate the high mass slope of the initial mass function (IMF) for a mass-complete (log10(M$_*$/M$_\odot$)~9.3) sample of 102 star-forming galaxies at z~2 using their H$\alpha$ equivalent ...

A Simple Cloud-Native Spectral Transformation Method to Disentangle Optically Shallow and Deep Waters in Sentinel-2 Images

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2022
This study presents a novel method to identify optically deep water using purely spectral approaches. Optically deep waters, where the seabed is too deep for a bottom reflectance signal to be returned, is uninformative for seabed mapping.

Cluster observations of the midaltitude cusp under strong northward interplanetary magnetic field [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
We report on a multispacecraft cusp observation lasting more than 100 min. We determine the cusp boundary motion and reveal the effect on the cusp size of the interplanetary magnetic field (IMF) changing from southward to northward.
