Uncertainties in Galactic Chemical Evolution Models [PDF]
We use a simple one-zone galactic chemical evolution model to quantify the uncertainties generated by the input parameters in numerical predictions for a galaxy with properties similar to those of the Milky Way.

Board Gender Diversity and Environmental Credit Risk in Banking: A Global Study of Bank Governance
ABSTRACT This study investigates the relationship between board gender diversity and environmental credit risk in the global banking sector. Using a panel dataset of 345 publicly listed banks from 75 countries over the period 2018–2022, we find that greater female representation on bank boards is significantly associated with lower environmental credit

Constraining the z ∼ 1 Initial Mass Function with HST and JWST Lensed Stars in MACS J0416.1−2403
Our understanding of galaxy properties and evolution is contingent on knowing the initial mass function (IMF), and yet to date the IMF is constrained only to local galaxies.

ABSTRACT The United States (U.S.) faces challenges in achieving its ambitious net‐zero carbon emissions target by 2050, with current emissions having fallen by less than 1% in 2024. Despite an investment of $500 billion in low‐carbon resources while holding the second‐largest green technology patent portfolio globally, it is further imperative to ...

A systematic variation of the stellar initial mass function in early-type galaxies [PDF]
Much of our knowledge of galaxies comes from analysing the radiation emitted by their stars. It depends on the stellar initial mass function (IMF) describing the distribution of stellar masses when the population formed. Consequently knowledge of the IMF

ABSTRACT Although research on sustainability in the healthcare sector is growing, limited attention has been paid to how pharmaceutical companies can be motivated to engage more actively in achieving net‐zero healthcare goals. This study argues that the breadth of directors' experiences—across educational, industrial, and organizational domains—can ...

The stellar IMF from Isothermal MHD Turbulence
We address the turbulent fragmentation scenario for the origin of the stellar initial mass function (IMF), using a large set of numerical simulations of randomly driven supersonic MHD turbulence.
