Biodegradation of imidacloprid
Imidacloprid (1-[(6-chloro-3-pyridinyl)methyl]-N-nitro-2-imidazolidinimine), a chloronicotinyl insecticide used to control biting and sucking insects, is very persistent in the soil with a half-life often greater than 100 days. Our objectives were to 1) discover, isolate, and characterize a single microbial species with the ability to degrade ...

The detrimental effects of conventional farming on bird biodiversity are increasingly documented. Despite this, the specific impacts of both organic and conventional farming practices on bird coloration and sperm quality in natural settings remain unexplored. This study aimed to determine whether these farming practices differentially affect body mass,

The “Pesticide Chip”: Chemical Legacies and Agrarian Futures in Costa Rica
Abstract For decades, agro‐industrial capital has adopted cascading chemical and biotechnical interventions, or fixes, to secure accumulation through the cultivation of monocrops. We develop a framework that centres on how monocrop‐induced susceptibility to pests and pathogens—and the patchwork of fixes to address these—produces uneven chemical ...

A defect‐engineered assembly strategy is reported for the in situ encapsulation of acetylcholinesterase (AChE) into amorphous MOF‐74, endowing the composite with superior catalytic activity and target recognition capability. Leveraging these structural advantages, a sensitive and stable biosensor is constructed for the detection of paraoxon pesticide ...

Protective effect of vitamin D on imidacloprid-induced testicular injury in rats
Introduction The degenerative effects of imidacloprid via oxidative stress are known. Irisin is a recently discovered peptide with energy regulator and antioxidant effects. In addition, the antioxidant potential of Vitamin D has been reported in previous

The soybean aphid, Aphis glycines Matsumura (Hemiptera: Aphididae), a primary pest of soybean, poses a severe threat to soybean production. In this study, the 4th instar nymphs were exposed to the LC50 and LC30 of imidacloprid and thiamethoxam from F0 to

Bti BR101 exhibits strong larvicidal activity against Anopheles larvae spp., with dose‐dependent mortality and LC50 of 3.13 µg/mL. Bti increases ROS, lipid and protein oxidation, and activates antioxidant enzymes (SOD, CAT, GPx) and detoxification pathways (MFO and esterases), indicating moderate oxidative stress.
