Copper(II) Complexes of the Imidazolinone Herbicide Imazapyr

Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 1996
The copper(II) complexes formed by the imidazolinone herbicide imazapyr [(±)-2-(4-isopropyl-4-methyl-5-oxo-2-imidazolin-2-yl)nicotinic acid] were studied in aqueous solution by potentiometric and spectroscopic techniques. Imazapyr acts as a chelating molecule and is effective over a wide pH range.

Leaching of Three Imidazolinone Herbicides during Sprinkler Irrigation

Journal of Environmental Quality, 2012
Some imidazolinone herbicides have been shown to be mobile in soil, raising concern about their possible movement to ground water. Three imidazolinone herbicides (imazamethabenz-methyl, 497 g ha(-1); imazethapyr, 14.7 g ha(-1); and imazamox, 14.7 g ha(-1)) commonly used in crop production on the Canadian prairies were applied to a tile-drained field to

Imidazolinone-Tolerant Rice Response to Imazethapyr Application

Weed Technology, 2006
Greenhouse research was conducted to evaluate shoot and root growth response of imidazolinone-tolerant (IT) rice cultivars to imazethapyr applied postemergence at various rates and application timings. Imazethapyr was applied at 70, 140, and 280 g ai/ha to IT cultivars ‘CL 121’ and ‘CL 161’ in the one- to two-leaf and three- to four-leaf growth stages.

Imidazolinone herbicides for weed control in greengram

Indian Journal of Weed Science, 2016
A field experiment to study the efficacy of imidazolinone herbicides in greengram was conducted during Kharif seasons of 2012 and 2013. Ten weed control treatments viz. imazethapyr at 50 and 70 g, premix of imazethapyr + imazamox at 60 and 70 g/ha, both applied as post-emergence at 20 days after sowing; pendimethalin 1000 g and premix of pendimethalin +

Synthesis of ketovinyl derivatives of 2-imidazolinone

Bulletin of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR Division of Chemical Science, 1980
1. The reaction of 4(5)-methyl-2-imidazolinone with crotonyl chloride, chlorovinyl phenyl ketone or chlorovinyl n-amyl ketone in the presence of AlCl3 respectively, gives 4-methyl-5-crotonyl-, 4-methyl-5-phenylketovinyl- or 4-methyl-5-n-amylketovinyl-2-imidazolinone. 2.

Synthesis of 2′-deoxycytidine and its triphosphate bearing tryptophan-based imidazolinone fluorophore for environment sensitive fluorescent labelling of DNA

Tetrahedron, 2018
We synthesized 2′-deoxycytidine and the corresponding nucleoside triphosphate bearing (indol-3-yl)methylene-2-methyl-5-oxo-4,5-dihydroimidazol-1-yl group (a tryptophan-based fluorophore from cyan fluorescent protein) linked through a propargyl group at ...

Imidazolinone herbicides: Synthesis and novel chemistry

Pesticide Science, 1990
AbstractThe imidazolinone herbicides were prepared from reaction of an α‐ methylvaline fragment with an o‐dicarboxylic acid. Early syntheses were completed through an imide amide intermediate, such as I or XV, followed by further cyclization to 2,5‐diones III or XXI. Reaction of these diones with nucleophiles led to imidazolinones IV and V.
