A Target-Site Mutation Confers Cross-Resistance to ALS-Inhibiting Herbicides in Erigeron sumatrensis from Brazil [PDF]
Cases of weed resistant to herbicides have changed the dynamics of agricultural areas in Brazil, and in recent years, Erigeron species have caused major problems to farmers in the country, mainly in relation to the ineffectiveness of herbicide treatments

The imidazolinones, a new chemical class of herbicides, were shown to be uncompetitive inhibitors of acetohydroxyacid synthase from corn. This is the first common enzyme in the biosynthetic pathway for valine, leucine, and isoleucine. The K(i) for the imidazolinones tested ranged from 2 to 12 micromolar.

Push It to the Limit: Identification of Novel Amino Acid Changes on the Acetolactate Synthase Enzyme of Rice That Putatively Confer High Level of Tolerance to Different Imidazolinones [PDF]
Advancements in genetically modified herbicide tolerance technology opened a new way to manage weed populations in crop fields. Since then, many important genetically modified crops that are tolerant to various herbicides have been developed and ...

Catalytic Diastereo- and Enantioselective Synthesis of 2-Imidazolinones [PDF]
Chiral cyclic ureas (2-imidazolinones) were prepared by the reaction of nitrones and isocyanoacetate esters using a multicatalytic system that combines a bifunctional Brønsted base-squaramide organocatalyst and Ag+ as a Lewis acid. The reaction could be achieved with a range of nitrones derived from aryl- and cycloalkylaldehydes with moderate diastereo-

Novel Mutation in the Acetohydroxyacid Synthase (AHAS), Gene Confers Imidazolinone Resistance in Chickpea Cicer arietinum L. Plants [PDF]
Chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.) is an important crop in crop-rotation management in Israel. Imidazolinone herbicides have a wide spectrum of weed control, but chickpea plants are sensitive to acetohydroxyacid synthase (AHAS; also known as acetolactate ...

Sublethal application of various sulfonylurea and imidazolinone herbicides favors outcrossing and hybrid seed production in oilseed rape [PDF]
Background Acetolactate synthase (ALS)-inhibiting herbicides from the chemical families of sulfonylureas and imidazolinones are used worldwide. However, drift or sprayer contamination from some sulfonylurea herbicides causes a high level of male ...

Tolerance to Imidazolinone Herbicides in Wheat [PDF]
An imidazolinone-tolerant wheat (Triticum aestivum L. em Thell) mutant in the winter wheat cultivar Fidel has been identified and characterized. The mutant was isolated from a population derived through seed mutagenesis of the variety with an aqueous solution containing sodium azide.

Degradation Enhancement as the Mechanism of Resistance to Imazethapyr in Barnyardgrass [PDF]
: Non-target site (NTS) herbicide resistance by degradation enhancement is an increasing problem in several weeds around the world. In this study, the occurrence of degradation enhancement by cytochrome P450 monooxygenases (cytP450) was evaluated as the ...
