Selectivity of Imazapic + Imazapyr Herbicides on Irrigated Rice as Affected by Seed Treatment with Dietholate and Clomazone Applied in Preemergence [PDF]
: The use of dietholate seed treatment, as well as the use of preemergence clomazone, can affect the selectivity of the imidazolinones chemical group of postemergence herbicides applied in crops Clearfield™.

Probing the molecular determinants of emission enhancement in RNA aptamer–metal complex systems
Light up aptamer: fluorophore pairs are widely used in sensing and imaging, with coordination complex fluorophores providing specific benefits due to their long‐lived emission. Here, we examined key structural and electronic features of these metal complexes to identify the requirements for productive engagement with an RNA aptamer.

A metal‐free PIII/PV redox organocatalytic aza‐Wittig reaction enables the efficient cyclization of azide‐functionalized imides into pharmaceutically relevant amidine‐containing heterocycles. Using only 2 mol% of a methanophosphocine catalyst and a Brønsted acid additive, a broad range of substrates is converted in up to 96% yield, including ...

Scientific Opinion on waiving of the dog studies in the regulatory process of agrochemicals approval
Abstract Commission Regulation (EU) No. 283/2013 sets out the data requirements for pesticide active substances and includes short‐term oral toxicity testing in rodents (90‐day rat study) and non‐rodents (90‐day dog study) to support human health hazard assessment for pesticide active substances in the European Union (EU). However, the relevance of the

Activity of Antioxidant Enzymes in Euphorbia heterophylla Biotypes and their Relation to Cross Resistance to ALS and Protox Inhibitors [PDF]
: The characteristics of multiple resistance in Euphorbia heterophylla biotypes to herbicides that are inhibitors of ALS (Acetolactate synthase) and PPO (Protoporphyrinogen oxidase) and their responsible mechanisms are still not completely elucidated ...

Abstract Barnyardgrass [Echinochloa crus‐galli (L.) P. Beauv.] is the most problematic weed of delayed‐flooded rice (Oryza sativa L.) systems in the mid‐southern United States. Recent findings suggest that acetochlor can achieve effective barnyardgrass control in rice, but rice injury can occur with rainfall soon after application.

Understanding the Opportunities to Mitigate Carryover of Imidazolinone Herbicides in Lowland Rice
(1) Background: The Clearfield™ system (CL) is currently the primary tool for selective weedy-rice management in irrigated rice. However, herbicide persistence in the soil may cause damage to successive crops.

Generation of imidazolinone herbicide resistant trait in Arabidopsis
Recently-emerged base editing technologies could create single base mutations at precise genomic positions without generation DNA double strand breaks. Herbicide resistant mutations have been successfully introduced to different plant species, including Arabidopsis, watermelon, wheat, potato and tomato via C to T (or G to A on the complementary strand)
