Metabolism of Imipramine by Microorganisms
Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 1981The microbial metabolism of imipramine was studied using selected fungal organisms. The major microbial metabolites were isolated, and their structures were established by spectroscopic analyses (particularly 13C-NMR) and by comparison with authentic samples.

A Controlled Trial of Imipramine
British Journal of Psychiatry, 1964A comparison of imipramine and electroplexy in 31 depressed patients selected for the latter treatment has already been reported (Robin and Harris, 1962). The following study concerns depressed patients chosen for conservative measures.

To the Editor.— In connection with the question by Dr. Leo Sell and the answer by Dr. Anthony Kales (227:1066, 1974), I would like to draw your attention to clinical observations we have made in a study of 12 sleepwalking and pavor nocturnus children. We used 25 to 50 mg of imipramine before bedtime with great success. From the psychotherapeutic point

Tritiated imipramine binding sites are decreased in the frontal cortex of suicides.

Hepatic sensitivity to imipramine
The American Journal of Digestive Diseases, 1977A case of significant hepatic reaction related to imipramine is presented, documented by challenge with imipramine and liver biopsy. The mechanism, while not entirely clear, is presumed to involve hypersensitivity or induction of toxic metabolites.
