A group of 13 enuretic children was studied in an attempt to specify an antienuretic effect to imipramine. Organic disease was ruled out and safeguards were established for prompt recognition of drug reactions. A double-blind study was made, with children under 12 receiving 25 mg., and those over 12 50 mg. of imipramine nightly.

Although in the majority of cases E.C.T. is swiftly effective in the treatment of morbid depression there are some who regard it with repugnance, and have long hoped for drugs which would obviate its use. It was that hope which prompted this trial of imipramine (“Tofranil”).
