A Novel Striated Membrane Contact Site in Vestibular Hair Cells

Biology of the Cell, Volume 118, Issue 10, October 2026.
The mammalian vestibular system features type I and II hair cells (HCs) with distinct neurotransmission: type I uses both ribbon synapses and rapid non‐quantal transmission (NQT). We reveal a novel striated membrane contact between type I HCs and calyceal afferents, linked to atypical mitochondria.

Zusammenfassung Das humane Papillomvirus (HPV) Typ 42 ist ein seltener, derzeit als low‐risk klassifizierter HPV‐Typ, der zum Papillomvirus‐Genus alpha gehört. In benignen vulvären Papillomen nachgewiesen, verursacht HPV42 überwiegend benigne Läsionen wie anogenitale Warzen.
