Fatty acid esterification using nylon‐immobilized lipase

Biotechnology and Bioengineering, 1995
AbstractThe esterification of a long‐chain fatty acid was conducted using a nylon‐immobilized lipase from Candida cylindracea in a nearly anhydrous, nonpolar organic medium, hexane. Butyl laurate was produced from lauric acid and n‐butanol at a maximum initial reaction rate of 37 mmol/h.

Preparation and properties of immobilized lipoprotein lipase

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Lipids and Lipid Metabolism, 1980
Purified bovine milk lipoprotein lipase has been covalently attached to CH-Sepharose with water-soluble carbodiimide. The immobilized enzyme retained enzymic activity and was stimulated 7-fold by the addition of human apolipoprotein C-II. Both [3H]heparin and 125I-labeled apolipoprotein C-II bound to the immobilized enzyme; unlabeled heparin and ...

Nanoclays for lipase immobilization

2016
© 2016 by the authors. The immobilization of Candida antarctica lipase B (CALB) was performed by physical adsorption on both neat and organo-modified forms of sepiolite and montmorillonite. The influence of different parameters, e.g., solvent, enzyme loading, cross-linking, and type of clay support, on immobilization efficiency and catalyst hydrolytic ...

Lipoprotein Lipase Immobilization onto Porous Chitosan Beads

Biotechnology Progress, 1994
AbstractLipoprotein lipase (LPL) was covalently immobilized onto the surface of porous chitosan beads (ChB) without or with spacers of different lengths. The relative activity (RA) of the immobilized LPL was found to be high toward a small ester substrate, p‐nitrophenyl laurate (pNPL).

Production of flavor esters by immobilized lipase

Biotechnology Letters, 1987
Candidacylindracea lipase adsorbed to silica gel produced a variety of flavor esters when hydrated and shaken in n-heptane containing substrates. Scale-up production of ethyl butyrate was examined in a packed column with recycling of n-hexane containing substrates. Increased substrate concentrations were stimulatory up to a point after which inhibition

Immobilized lipase‐catalyzed ethanolysis of sunflower oil

Journal of the American Oil Chemists' Society, 2004
AbstractThe ethanolysis of sunflower oil catalyzed by an immobilized 1,3‐specific porcine pancreatic lipase in a medium composed solely of substrates was investigated. The effects of the oil/ethanol molar ratio, temperature, amount of added water, and amount of enzyme used [respectively, 1∶3, 45°C, 0% (vol/vol), and 0.5 g of lipase, i.e., 10% w/w of ...

Rational Design of Immobilized Lipases and Phospholipases

2012
Immobilization of lipases and phospholipases on, mainly, water insoluble carriers, helps in their economic reuse and in the development of continuous bioprocesses. Design of efficient lipases and phospholipases-immobilized system is rather a difficult task.

[Adsorption immobilization of alkaline lipase].

Prikladnaia biokhimiia i mikrobiologiia, 1992
A polyamide with the covalently coupled phosphatidyl ethanolamine was used for affinity adsorption of an alkaline lipase from Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The immobilization resulted in increase of the enzyme specific activity. Some properties of native and adsorbed enzyme were compared. The temperature optima, heat and pH stability, KM and Vmax values were

Butyloleate production using immobilized lipase

Biofuels has received significant attention recently as a biodegradable and nonpolluting fuel. In this study, butyloleate was prepared in solvent-free system by esterification of oleic acid with butanol using immobilized lipase Novozym 435 as biocatalyst in a batch system.
