Biodiesel production with immobilized lipase: A review
Biotechnology Advances, 2010Fatty acid alkyl esters, also called biodiesel, are environmentally friendly and show great potential as an alternative liquid fuel. Biodiesel is produced by transesterification of oils or fats with chemical catalysts or lipase. Immobilized lipase as the biocatalyst draws high attention because that process is "greener".

Use of immobilized lipases for lipase purification via specific lipase–lipase interactions
Journal of Chromatography A, 2004Lipase from Pseudomonas fluorescens (PFL), an enzyme with a great tendency to yield bimolecular aggregates, was immobilized via multipoint covalent attachment on glyoxyl-agarose in the presence of Triton X-100. This strategy permitted to obtain the enzyme with the active center oriented towards the reaction medium.

Lipase immobilized by adsorption
Applied Microbiology and Biotechnology, 1988Candida cylindraceae lipase was immobilized by adsorption to various hydrophilic and hydrophobic supports and studied with respect to the esterification rates of a primary and a secondary alcohol, respectively, in organic media. The reaction rates were compared with the rate of esterification with “free lipase”.

Immobilization of Lipase from Grey Mullet
Applied Biochemistry and Biotechnology, 2012Grey mullet (Mugil cephalus) lipase was isolated using para-aminobenzamidine agarose and immobilized on octyl Sepharose CL-4B (o-Sep). Immobilized grey mullet lipase (GMLi) had a 10 °C higher optimum temperature compared to the free enzyme and showed remarkable thermal stability.

Lipase immobilized in organic-inorganic matrics
Journal of Sol-Gel Science and Technology, 1997Enzyme lipase was immobilized with ferrite powder and deposited in layers on glass slides from lipase to a solution of silicone alkoxides. The highest hydrolytical activity was observed with the magnetic lipase prepared by mixing the paste of ferrite powder and lipase with tetramethoxysilane, 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane and propyltrimethoxysilane.

Lipoprotein lipase immobilization onto polyacrolein microspheres
Biotechnology and Bioengineering, 1990AbstractA lipoprotein lipase (LPL) was made water insoluble by immobilizing onto the surface of polyacrolein (PAA) microspheres with and without oligoglycines as spacer. The activity of the immobilized LPL was found to remain high toward a small ester substrate, p‐nitrophenyl laurate (pNPL).

Immobilization/stabilization of lipase fromCandida rugosa
Applied Biochemistry and Biotechnology, 1988With the aim of fixing the enzyme to the matrix by multiple covalent linkages, lipase from Candida rugosa (formerly cylindracea) has been insolubilized through its amino groups on Sepharose 6B previously activated with 2,3-epoxy-1-propanol. Two main variables that are known to control the number of bonds formed have been tested: the contact time ...

Bioreactors with immobilized lipases
Enzyme and Microbial Technology, 1996This review attempts to provide an updated compilation of studies reported in the literature pertaining to reactors containing lipases in immobilized forms, in a way that helps the reader direct a bibliographic search and develop an integrated perspective of the subject.

Immobilization of Oospora lactis lipase
Chemistry of Natural Compounds, 1988A number of new sorbents for the immobilization of lipases have been synthesized from Silokhrom and Porokhrom, and also from microcrystalline cellulose. The conditions for the immobilization of lipases have been selected and some of their properties have been studied.
