Mycobacterium Tuberculosis-Associated Immune Reconstitution Syndrome in Solid-Organ Transplant Recipients

open access: yes, 2014
Background. Incidence, characteristics, and risk factors for tuberculosis (TB)-associated immune reconstitution inflammatory syndrome (IRS) in solid-organ transplant (SOT) recipients are not known. Methods.

TSPYL5 Promotes Triple‐Negative Breast Cancer Metastasis by Antagonizing USP10‐Mediated PTEN Stabilization to Unleash a ZEB1‐Dependent EMT Program

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The hyperactivation of PI3K/AKT signaling in PTEN wild‐type triple‐negative breast cancer represents a clinical paradox. We delineate a novel post‐translational regulatory axis wherein the oncogene TSPYL5 competitively antagonizes the deubiquitinase USP10.

Longitudinal immune profiling following autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation in multiple sclerosis: insights into immune reconstitution and disease modulation

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology
IntroductionAutologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (AHSCT) is an effective treatment for relapsing remitting multiple sclerosis, yet the mechanisms underlying immune reset and sustained remission remain incompletely understood.

Paradoxical reactions and immune reconstitution inflammatory syndrome in tuberculosis.

open access: yesInternational Journal of Infectious Diseases, 2015
The coalescence of the HIV-1 and tuberculosis (TB) epidemics in Sub-Saharan Africa has had a significant and negative impact on global health.

The immune reconstitution inflammatory syndrome: etiology, pathogenesis, clinical manifestations

open access: yes, 2019

A Keratinocyte‐Mast Cell NF‐κB2/CXCL2/IL‐6 Amplification Loop Enhances Cutaneous Antifungal Defense Against C. albicans

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Mast cells (MCs), key innate immune sentinels at the host–environment interface, serve as primary responders to invading pathogens. However, their specific contribution to host defense against cutaneous Candida albicans (C. albicans) infection and their synergy with other immune and non‐immune cells remain poorly understood. Here, we show that

The role of graft T-cell size in patients receiving alemtuzumab serotherapy for non-malignant disorders: results of an institutional protocol

open access: yesScientific Reports
Although graft T cells assist in engraftment, mediate antiviral immune-reconstitution, and cause graft-versus-host disease, graft size is not determined by T-cell content of the graft.

HIV–tuberculosis-associated immune reconstitution inflammatory syndrome is characterized by Toll-like receptor and inflammasome signalling

open access: yesNature Communications, 2015
Patients with HIV-associated tuberculosis (TB) initiating antiretroviral therapy (ART) may develop immune reconstitution inflammatory syndrome (TB-IRIS). No biomarkers for TB-IRIS have been identified and the underlying mechanisms are unclear.

Cellular Immune Reconstitution after Haploidentical Transplantation in Children

open access: yes, 2007
Delayed immune reconstitution is 1 of the major contributions to the morbidity and mortality after haploidentical transplantation. Patients with a slow recovery of the innate and especially of the adaptive immune system are at high risk for severe and ...

Disruption of Treg Homeostasis in Rheumatoid Arthritis via Ferroptosis‐Mediated ETC Collapse and TXK‐STAT3/PLCγ1 Activation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In rheumatoid arthritis, synovial Tregs accumulate but are functionally impaired due to iron overload‐induced ferroptosis. This triggers mitochondrial dysfunction and TXK tyrosine kinase‐mediated signaling, leading to Treg destabilization and inflammation.
