Aging Clinical and Experimental Research, 1994
The interactions between B and T lymphocytes, leading to the development of humoral responses, are reviewed with references to the changes occurring in aged people. Aging is perceived as a process of impairment of immune functions; it is known that T cells from aged subjects have a reduced ability to produce IL-2.

Burns, 1982
Evaluation of serum immunoglobulin levels for IgG, IgA and IgM in burned patients was performed by Johanson's modification of Mancini's technique. Influence of serum immunoglobulin levels upon the bactericidal capacities was also measured. Levels of all three immunoglobulins were found to be affected in burned individuals compared with healthy control ...

Humoral immunity in experimental immune carditis
Pathology, 1984An experimental model of carditis has been produced in the rhesus monkey by giving 12 weekly injections of a streptococcal membrane antigen. There was histological evidence of focal myocarditis, subendocardial infiltration with lymphomononuclear cells and in one animal myocardial granuloma formation. No valvular lesions were seen.

Pentraxins in Humoral Innate Immunity
2011Innate immunity represents the first line of defence against pathogens and plays key roles in activation and orientation of the adaptive immune response. The innate immune system comprises both a cellular and a humoral arm. Components of the humoral arm include soluble pattern recognition molecules (PRMs) that recognise pathogens associated molecular ...
