Abstract With vinyl ester resin as monomer, ethylene glycol dimethacrylate (EDMA) as the crosslinker, dodecanol as porogenic solvents, and 2,2'-azobisisobutyronitrile (AIBN) as initiators, a poly(vinyl ester resin-co-ethylene dimethacrylate) monolithic column was prepared by “in-situ” process.

In avian species, blood immunoglobulin (Ig) Y, the equivalent to mammalian IgG, is selectively incorporated into ovarian follicles, but other classes, IgA and IgM, are much less abundant in the follicles. Several mammalian Igs, including IgG and IgA, are also incorporated into ovarian follicles when administered to birds.

Abstract The importance of immunoglobulin Y (IgY) as a specific antibody equivalent to mammalian immunoglobulin G (IgG) is well recognized. However, production of highly purified IgY is still difficult due to the lack of specific purification methods.

Leptospira-specific immunoglobulin Y (IgY) is protective in infected hamsters
VaccineLeptospirosis, a globally significant zoonotic disease caused by pathogenic Leptospira, continues to threaten the health and public safety of both humans and animals. Current clinical treatment of leptospirosis mainly relies on antibiotics but their efficacy in severe cases is controversial. Passive immunization has a protective effect in the treatment

Microencapsulation for the gastric passage and controlled intestinal release of immunoglobulin Y
Journal of Immunological Methods, 2005Avian immunoglobulin (Ig) Y is a promising alternative for the treatment and prevention of enteric infections, and has shown to be effective against a number of gastrointestinal pathogens, including Escherichia coli, Salmonella, and rotavirus. However, its application is limited by its sensitivity to human gastrointestinal conditions.

A novel and efficient immunoglobulin Y extraction method using poloxamer-polyethylene glycol
Preparative Biochemistry & Biotechnology, 2017Although many IgY extraction methods (such as polyethylene glycol (PEG) precipitation method, octanoic acid method, water dilution method, etc.) have been established, there is still industrial drive and real need in developing scale-up IgY production methods.

Adsorption of immunoglobulin Y in supermacroporous continuous cryogel with immobilized Cu2+ ions
Journal of Chromatography A, 2015The influence of temperature, pH and ionic strength on the adsorption of Immunoglobulin Y (IgY) in IDA-Cu(2+) cryogel system was studied by batch equilibrium measurements. The adsorptive equilibrium data were obtained at 17 and 27°C, pH 5.0 and 6.5, and at ionic strength of 50 and 200mmolL(-1) NaCl.

SUMMARY The effect of passive immunization with immunoglobulin Y (IgY) antibody against Marek's disease virus (mdv) was examined in mdv-susceptible chickens. The production of IgY, immunoglobulin M, and probably also immunoglobulin A was depressed in passively immunized chickens when compared with that in mdv-exposed chickens which had not been given ...
