Analysis of impact damage of agglomerates: effect of impact angle

Powder Technology, 2004
Abstract The effect of impact angle on the breakage of two types of agglomerates of a synthetic detergent formulation is analysed. The agglomerates are in the same size range (0.60–0.71 and 1.00–1.18 mm) with the same formulation but have different structures arising from the processing method. In contrast to previous work reported in the literature

Impact time control guidance law with large impact angle constraint

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part G: Journal of Aerospace Engineering, 2015
The problem of impact time control with large impact angle constraint is addressed. The dynamics of impact time error under the biased proportional navigation based impact angle control guidance law is first derived for the case of large impact angle constraint.

Impact of impacted mandibular third molars in mandibular angle and condylar fractures

International Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, 2010
Previous retrospective analyses prove that impacted mandibular third molars (M3s) increase the risk of angle fractures and decrease the risk of concomitant fractures to the condyle. The authors have attempted to verify these relationships and identify the underlying mechanism of injury.

Frontal Offset and Angled Impact Passive Protection

SAE Technical Paper Series, 1993
Occupant protection in offset and strongly angled frontal impacts represents a crash mode in which a significant number of severe and fatal injuries occur each year in the United States. To date, no United States auto manufacturers have acknowledged dealing with or addressing the problem.

Impact Angle Constrained Interception of Stationary Targets

Journal of Guidance, Control, and Dynamics, 2008
In Many advanced guidance applications [1–5], it is required to intercept the target from a particular direction, that is, achieve a certain impact angle.

Limbus impact on off-angle iris degradation

2013 International Conference on Biometrics (ICB), 2013
The accuracy of iris recognition depends on the quality of data capture and is negatively affected by several factors such as angle, occlusion, and dilation. Off-angle iris recognition is a new research focus in biometrics that tries to address several issues including corneal refraction, complex 3D iris texture, and blur.

Successful High Angle Completions, Cementing, and Drilling's Impact

Proceedings of International Meeting on Petroleum Engineering, 1988
ABSTRACTSuccessful well completions are the key to exploiting the potential benefits of high angle/horizontal drilling. Successful primary cementing is vital to completion success. Cementing success is often jeopardized by the wellbore created during the drilling process. This paper unfolds this dilemma and takes a look at what must be done to overcome

Impact properties of laminated angle ply composites

Engineering Fracture Mechanics, 1976
The impact properties of laminated composites have been studied as a function of fiber orientation angle, lamination configuration and specimen geometry. The energy absorbing mechanisms havebeen identified. The impact properties of laminated composites are influenced significantly by the fiber orientation angle, lamination configuration and specimen ...
