The impact behaviour of silk cocoons
Journal of Experimental Biology, 2013SUMMARY Silk cocoons, constructed by silkmoths (Lepidoptera), are protective structural composites. Some cocoons appear to have evolved towards structural and material optimisation in order to sustain impact strikes from predators and hinder parasite ingress.

The impact behaviour of paints
Journal of Materials Science, 1994The split Hopkinson pressure bar has been used to study the impact behaviour of a selection of single and multi-layer paint systems in the form of films of thickness 0.04 mm. Stress-strain curves are presented for systems comprising three coatings, coating A, coating B and coating C, in compression for strain rates of the order 5×103 s−1.

The Behaviour of the Impact Damper
Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, 1965In this investigation a theory is developed relating to the behaviour of the impact damper. The analysis is based on the assumptions that (1) two un-equispaced impacts per cycle occur in the steady state, and (2) the impact force-time curve is of rectangular shape and of infinitesimal duration.

The impact of inservice training on teacher behaviour
Teaching and Teacher Education, 1994Abstract Nowadays, a considerable amount of time, money, and energy is invested in inservice education or training (INSET). Yet, our knowledge of design features and implementation conditions in schools that make INSET effective, is still limited.

Behaviour and impact ‘on the ground’
2018A book on the subject of money laundering would not be complete without consideration of the impact of the AML framework on those that are subject to its rules. Indeed, any critical inter-disciplinary study within the social sciences would remain incomplete without such discussion. The purpose of this review of literature, identified through the search

Behavioural Impacts of Mobile Tour Guides
2007Electronic tour guides have been developed to personalise guided tours. Also, in contrast to traditional tours, electronic tour guides allow their users to abandon or modify tours at any time. Research as to whether users take advantage of these added capabilities is currently not available.

Investigation of the impact behaviour of wooden impact limiters
Nuclear Engineering and Design, 1994Abstract Wooden impact limiters are used to reduce the forces acting on packages for irradiated fuel assemblies in hypothetical accident situations. For spruce specimens designed corresponding to the filling of real impact limiters, the dynamic force-compression characteristic has been evaluated in experiments according to the IAEA 9 m drop.
